3 Tecnica specification Function Measurement principe In order to measure te fow of a fuid in a pipe, utrasonic signas are used, empoying te transit time difference principe. Utrasonic signas are emitted y a transducer instaed on te pipe and received y a second transducer. Tese signas are emitted aternatey in te fow direction and against it. As te fuid in wic te signas propagate is fowing, te transit time of te utrasonic signas in te fow direction is sorter tan against te fow direction. Te transit time difference, t, is measured and aows te fowmeter to determine te average fow veocity aong te propagation pat of te utrasonic signas. A fow profie correction is ten performed in order to otain te area averaged fow veocity, wic is proportiona to te voumetric fow rate. Two integrated microprocessors contro te entire measuring process. Tis aows te fowmeter to remove disturance signas, and to ceck eac received utrasonic wave for its vaidity wic reduces noise.
