1 SDC/RDC-F SERIES ISOLATED SYNCHRO/RESOLVER TO DIGITAL CONVERTERS FEATURES "Whole-Converter-Product" no external component required, true field voltage input, aured accuracy and dynamic performance. 100% Tranformer Iolated or Solid State Signal & Reference Input. True Ratiometric-Type II Tracking Converter Bit Reolution. Excitation Frequencie: 47 to 10,000Hz. Inenitive to Freq. or Amplitude Variation. Repeatable, Dynamic, Lag-Free Output. Indutry Standard Module Package. True 3 wire Synchro & 4 Reolver Input Format. Commercial & Extended Temp. Grade Model. Encapulated for Safety/Shock/Vibration, Moiture/Flame Retardant Non-Feeding. Decription: SDC/RDC-F Serie are Indutry Standard Tracking Synchro and Reolver to Digital Converter module with programmable reolution, 8/16 Bit data bu control, continuou Built-In Self-Tet report, and forced angle tet mode ued for functional validation on command. Model are available with either low cot differential input, or internally tranformer iolated input for the mot demanding indutrial and military application.
2 No external ignal conditioning, critical dynamic, front-end component, or circuitry i required. The SDC/RDC-F erie accept direct field voltage ynchro or reolver input, and convert them into real-time, accurate, natural binary digital data. Provided a a complete plug-in olution, accuracy and performance i aured from the field ignal to the digital uer. All unit are hipped with printed tet data. Unlike external tranformer that require ignificant real-etate, and reduce converter accuracy by their inherent nonlinearitie, and unlike hybrid-typical tranformer that uffer poor reliability becaue of their inufficient coil conductor ize; the SDC/RDC-F' internal micro-tranformer provide a full 500VDC minimum breakdown voltage (high-pot), and the accuracy i guaranteed for the whole ynchro/reolver converter ytem. The module package aure the uer that all the high voltage component and tranformer are conformally coated and afely contained in a flame retardant non-feeding encapulated medium with a durable through hole older mounting, for added containment and reitance to hock and vibration. The reolution i available for Bit, allowing the uer to elect the reolution bet uited to the operating peed of any particular application. The Inhibit input activate a buffered latch, and i internally ynchronized to the buy, auring that only the mot recent valid data i tored and held on the output. The SDC/RDC-F erie are value-added whole converter olution, deigned for eay and guaranteed trouble free operation in the mot demanding indutrial and military application. Iolation: SDC/RDC-F Serie Tranformer unit feature internal Scott-T micro-tranformer. Thee provide a true uncompromied galvanic iolation barrier between the field wired reference and ignal line, and the uer power upplie, ground and digital I/O. The ue of high impedance tranformer iolated input aure that ignal are neither loaded or diturbed, and prevent interaction or impediment of grounding cheme repective of any other apparatu haring thoe line. Package: The complete converter including internal tranformer, and requiring no external component, i provided in an indutry tandard package 3.1 x 2.6 x 0.42H. The Converter The SDC/RDC-F Serie are high performance, tranformer iolated, tracking, ratiometric; ynchro/reolver to digital converter, with internal three-point-angle elf tet, and built-in-tet; having internal olid tate type two ervo loop that track the abolute poition diplacement, real-time, providing a crip, virtually dynamic repone, very high accuracy, repeatability, and reolution that may even be programmed while in motion, from 10 to 16 bit wide. Becaue the converter employ the ue of a type II ervo loop, the converter track the input angle real-time without velocity lag error, the output data i dynamic, alway freh, and continuouly available. Only a minimum recoverable lag may occur with extremely large exceive acceleration. Thi completely iolate the uer circuitry from the all field wiring, and any other ytem that may be uing thee ignal; eliminating concern over troubleome ground loop, eparate analog ground, differing potential, ground interjected pike, or ghotly field noie, that frequently caue computer ytem intabilitie.

Note: 1) All unit available with either low cot olid tate, or Tranformer Iolated ignal and reference input. Tranformer Iolation i highly recommended for all high voltage input, alo when the ignal are wired to more than one device or ytem, where ground loop or field noie may be ignificant for bu concern, radar and antenna application, and abolutely mandated for all Naval and mot military concern. 2) Accuracy applie over the operating temperature range, +/-10% amplitude and frequency variation, & +/- 5% power upply variation. 3) Different input voltage and frequencie available, higher tracking rate and accuracy. 4) For all unit any one input line may be grounded.
4 Thi type II ervo eentially cloe it loop on the tangent expreed a the ratio of the in/co of the input angle, making thi ratiometric converion technique inherently inenitive to abolute amplitude and frequency variation, additionally; becaue the complex winding in the field mounted enor themelve expand and contract together, though their abolute voltage may vary; the ratio of the enor output preerve the ratiometric accuracy, thereby a impler digital component; ue reaonable care in routing the ignal input, apply power and your done. SDC/ RDC-F converter are fully teted under tatic and dynamic condition, and printed tet data with traceability i hipped with every unit. Optional BIT Output ( Built-In-Tet & Signal/Ref. Lo Detect, Continuou): Built - In - Tet, Continuoly running in th backround and provided a a dicrete BIT output pin. The BIT/Fault output, detect lo of AC reference input, lo of ignal (to within 100LSB', +500Uec.), exceeding maximum tracking rate (Overpeed), major over-acceleration (a experienced and to monitor large tep input typical of hard witching of ynchro ignal and uing "large tep Forced Angle for elf tet), and converter tracking failure. thi ratio-converion technique inherently provide the converter with automatic temperature compenation on the field mounted ynchro/reolver enor itelf. A mall <1LSB hyterei i injected into the loop to aure that the data output are crip, table and jitter-free, and to aure true 1 bit monotonicity (every ingle bit tate mut be ucceively dicernible, no jumping of bit). Data Tranfer: Data made available to the output i continuouly updated (tracking) without interruption; output data i table, accurate, and alway freh up to the maximum tracking rate of the converter. When the /INH. (Inhibit) input i cleared to zero; within 300 nec ll data bit are latched, and data i valid to be read. Releae the Inhibit line for 100 nec. min. to aure that new data i tranferred toward the buffered latch type output. No External Component: The SDC/RDC-F converter are complete, iolated, "whole converter" product, No External Component are Required. No trial and error; accuracy and dynamic performance i fully teted and aured to the ytem level, treated more like The INH line may alo be ued to capture real-time poition data ynchronized to a time tamp, camera trobe, or to capture everal axi of data imultaneouly on coordinated axi' control cheme. For imple Diplay type device, the converter will be free running and ue of the inhibit or C/B line may not be required.
