5 Application Information WS3240 i a contant current driver for LED lighting, adopted advanced contant current control method.it integrate 650V power witch. Only need a few peripheral component can achieve excellent contant current characteritic. With the primary ide feedback technology, WS3240 do not need optocoupler and TL431, alo need not the auxiliary winding for power upply and detection. Thu achieve the low ytemcot. Low operation current The operating current of WS3240 i very low. The typical value i 150uA. The low operating current improve the efficiency of the ytem, while reducing the VDD capacitor requirement. Primary Feedback PSR Technology Aume that the ytem work in DCM flyback mode, the power tranmiion equation can be expreed 2 P Lm I pk f Vo I o 2 Where, P i the output power, Vo and Io i the ytem current of primary ide contant, alo remain the ratio of the demagnetization time and the cycle time, which can realize contant output current, but alo independent with the line input voltage and tranformer inductance. WS3240 adopt PFM mode to realize contant current, making the peak inductor dem dem Demagnetization Detection WS3240 detect the demagnetization time through the drainterminal waveform, which can ave auxiliary winding. PFM Control improve the EMI performance WS3240 ue the PFM control method, which can improve the ytem performance. Becaue PFM belong to frequency converion control, built-in pread pectrum function. Over Voltage Protection WS3240 ha a built-in over voltage protection circuit. When the LED open, the output voltage increaed cycle by cycle, econdary demagnetization time induced. When the econdary demagnetization time i le than 5u, the over voltage protection will be triggered. Minimum off time WS3240 integrate the minimum off time control, the Pin Floating Protection In WS3240, pin floating phenomenon will not caue damage to the ytem. Automatic retart protection In WS3240, protection i locked when a certain protection i triggered, while the witching top, intering retart delay mode. Here the VDD voltage i ocillate between 5.3V and 5.8V, and entering into normal tart mode after 64 cycle. After tart up, it work and confirm whether the protection i removed. If the protection i not removed, the chip will enter into protection latch tate, and repeat delay to retart, until the protection i releaed. Soft Driver of Internal Power MOSFET WS3240 ha a built-in oft driver, improving the EMI performance, realizing a balance between the efficiency, the reliability and the EMI. typical value i 3.6u.
