1 Art Appreciation- Fall 2017 Art Journals Directions: Using your new textbook, A World of Art, 6th Edition by Sayre, answer the following chapter questions along with your weekly reading. You will need to turn in all 10 journals, stapled together by THURS 12/5 at the beginning of class with this sheet as your first page. Be sure to include your name. -10 points each day late! Journal #1- Chapter One & Two 1. What are the four fundamental roles of the artist? 2. What are the three steps to the process of seeing? 3. What is visual literacy? 4. Define the following terms: Representational, Abstract, Naturalism, and Non-objective Journal #2- Chapter Three & Four 1. What two ways do we find value in a work of art? 2. Why would a work of art be misunderstood or rejected by the public? 3. Give examples of the following types of line from the chapter: Outline, Contour line, Expressive line, Analytic line, and Implied movement lines. Journal #3- Chapters Three & Four 1.
