2 Introduction This document demonstrates the high degree of success students will achieve when using Scott Foresman Art in meeting the Arkansas Fine Arts Curriculum Framework for Visual Arts. Correlation page references are to the Student Edition and the associated Teacher s Edition. The Kindergarten Teacher s Edition/Student Edition is correlated to Arkansas Fine Arts Curriculum Framework for Visual Arts K-8 objectives. Scott Foresman is pleased to introduce our, Kindergarten through Grade 8, a program that integrates classroom instruction, hands-on activities and literacy-building experiences, focuses on the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, the basic tools artists use to communicate their ideas. Student Edition The Student Edition, Grades 1-8, provides fine art and engaging text that explores a wide range of styles and media and exposes students to art and artists in every lesson. Big Books Big Books, Kindergarten-Grade 5, offer student book pages on a larger scale. The Big Books can be used for whole class instruction or as a display for center or small group activities. Teacher s Edition The Teacher s Edition, (Kindergarten-Grade 8), provides detailed overviews for flexible and easy planning and features cross-curricular links to core disciplines. Varied assessment options monitor students understanding and their development of visual literacy. Additional Resources Fine Art Transparencies contain more than 1,000 images including most of the fine artworks in the program. These transparencies are ideal for Feldman Model and compare/contrast discussions. Fine Art Prints and Instructional Prints include both English and Spanish instruction. Unit-by-Unit Resources offer family letters, vocabulary, activities, and games. Time Line of Art History spans Old Stone Age through the Modern World featuring a wide variety of media and genres. A Master Index gives teachers a comprehensive reference to simplify planning, and Integrated Reading and Writing Workbook and Answer Key integrates reading and writing activities for each unit to strengthen language arts skills.
