2 It s Okay to Cheat on Your Knitting You don t have to know me very well to know that I m completely devoted to knitting. It s the perfect hobby, and I often wish I had a lot more time for it. But I have been known to spend time with other fiber crafts, too. In the context of hobbies, monogamy is not required. Northfield Yarn has been connecting with folks who use fiber in a variety of ways, and they will share their expertise with you in the current batch of classes. We re offering classes in knitting and crochet, of course, but also spinning, tatting, weaving, wet felting, needle felting, and tapestry crochet. This array of fiber arts will provide new possibilities for your creativity (not to mention new ways to use your stash!). And if you find a new love, that s not a problem, it s just more love to go around. Your knitting will always be there for you. Cynthia Gilbertson, owner Northfield Yarn

24 Special Events Stash Bash $35 Instructors: Cynthia Gilbertson & Amanda Ochocki Sunday, January 7, 1-3:30pm How's your relationship with your yarn stash? Is it a source of guilt or stress? Are you stuffing it into closets and trying to hide it from your family? We know a lot of you are answering yes, because we hear your stash lamentations every day at the shop. Time to roll up your sleeves, address the situation, and turn that frown upside down! The Stash Bash is a multi-faceted event designed to improve your relationship with your stash. Whether you want to use it, get rid of it, or simply learn to love it, we'll give you the tools you need. There is a small assignment to complete before the event. Refreshments will be provided. Skill Level: Any "Little Hats, Big Hearts Hat Collection February 1st through 5:30pm February 24th The "Little Hats, Big Hearts" project was started in 2014 by The American Heart Association and The Children's Heart Foundation to help raise awareness about heart health and congenital heart disease. If you would like to contribute, please drop off your hat(s) at the shop by 5:30pm Saturday, February 24th. 22

Tania Richter Trunk Show Saturday, May 19, 2:30-5:30pm... free As Tania Richter s Ravelry page so aptly puts it, Tania (aka AetherFang) designs knitted art. Dragons, feathers, and dramatic colors abound in her double-knit designs. While Tania is at the shop to teach a double knitting class (see p. 12), she will present a trunk show of some of her completed designs. Visit sources/epic-knits to see her patterns available on Ravelry. If you are not registered for her class, we welcome you to visit the shop during this time to check out the truly stunning work she will have on display. Notes 24
