Karen and I have so much fun together that we decided to make an event out of it and invite all of you! Karen designed the canvas, I m doing the stitches and we will spend the weekend stitching, eating and generally having a grand time Saturday and Sunday. Could we possibly have any more fun? Our next mystery class starts April 13th. It s the Bohemian Beauty by our newest artist Shelly Penko. It s going to be fun to interpret this very painterly style of needlepoint. how do these mystery classes work? What exactly is a mystery class? A mystery class is just like a mystery in a book; it unfolds in chapters.

We meet pretty much every other Sunday afternoon (unless the classroom is booked with another teacher) and review the twists, turns and fun of the current lesson. Class is from 1 to 3 pm.

We could have kept the color the same throughout the stitch creating a tone on tone pattern but we decided to change it up. The border stripe concept is lots of fun when working with an overdye. You can work all the stitches on the top row and then all the stitches on the bottom row of the pattern, creating a bold stripe, or you can work a little from each row softening the look and controlling the 9 overdye. Milanese Stripes What a fun stitch with so many options. Stitch your basic Milanese Triangle and then change it up into stripes that totally change the look. Work pairs of rows to make larger triangles to fill an area, or work pairs of rows at opposing angles to make a border stripe. Consider filling in the open spaces or not. Change it up, the possibilities are endless.

These work just like the regular Mystery Classes except you don t really know when the next lesson is coming. I fit these in between the regular mysteries. The lessons are about 3 months apart. You have time to stitch the lesson, but still work on your other projects. There are no in-person lessons. Everyone is an outpatient for this class. With each lesson you receive the next part of the stitchguide ($15 fee) plus the necessary threads, beads etc. All the other fun details of our mystery classes will remain the same.
