2 2(23) 1. DESCRIPTION The carrying bag is a big duffel bag provided with a zipper opening. In addition to the handles, the bag has two shoulder straps which makes it possible to carry the bag on the back. When the shoulder straps are not used, they can be covered by a shield, made of coated fabric, which is closed with a touch and close fastener. The bottom of the carrying bag is reinforced with plastic-coated fabric. Along the lower edge buttonhole bands are fastened, on which additional packing can be fixed. On one short side, there is an external, zipper-provided pocket. The maximum volume of the bag is approx. 80 litres. The weight to be max g.

Ordered patterns and computer calculated markers, if needed, to be paid by the bidder/supplier. A model will be supplied by FMV in connection with the FMV production briefing to the appointed manufacturer. In the case of any difference between the model and this Technical Specification, the Technical Specification shall take precedence. If any documentation supplied by FMV should seem incorrect, FMV must be informed about this. No drawings or specifications may be altered without the agreement of FMV.

12 12(23) 4. MANUFACTURING 4.1 General: All seams and stitchings to be locked at both ends. Thread ends to be trimmed and loose threads to be removed. 4.2 Making-up and edge sewing: To be made with 1-needle lockstitch. Stitch type 301. Stitch length mm. According to SS ISO Bar tacks (length mm, width maximum 3 mm): Two alternative types can be used: 1. Zig-zag bar tack. Stitch type 304. According to SS ISO needle lockstitch. Stitch type 301. Stitch length mm. The bar tack is made by sewing three times forwards and backwards. 4.4 Pattern includes 10 mm seam allowance, except for the pattern for plastic foam for shoulder straps.
13 13(23) 4.5 Upper side The upper side has an extra layer of fabric on the inside which is sewn in the side seam, at the zipper and at the broken line, 80 mm from short side seam. The fourth side is open and it ends up about 30 mm from the other short side seam. A pocket is formed for placing the padding, a piece of plastic foam, 140x450 mm. The zipper cover to be hemmed at one long side. Along the large opening on the upper side of the bag, on one side, the outer fabric, the inner fabric and the zipper cover are sewn together and edged with a band. The zipper cover are folded and stitched. On the other side, the outer fabric and the inner fabric are sewn together and edged with band. The sides are joined with the zipper. The measure of the reinforcement, between zipper end and side seams, is 20 mm and is made of coated fabric. This applies for both zipper ends. The zipper is sewn with bar tacks in both ends on the 20 mm reinforcement. The zipper s length is 660 mm. The zipper puller shall be provided with a strap which shall be at least 60 mm. The upper side with the shield for shoulder straps and the attachments in the corners are sewn together to the large piece of coated fabric and, on the inside, edged with band.

15 15(23) 4.6 Long side The bottom and the long sides consists of one large piece of coated fabric. The band to the carrying handles to be cut in lengths of 1400 mm. In both ends of this band, 210 mm from the ends, a 100 mm long band piece is fastened with a cross-seam. The long band is fastened downwards and the short band piece upwards with cross-seams and a seam around. The upper edge of the short band piece to be sewn with a bar tack. The bottom and the lower part of the long side to be reinforced with plasticcoated fabric which is sewn to the coated fabric. Both ends of the carrying handle starts between the two fabrics. The buttonhole band is attached with double seams and covers the edge of the plastic-coated fabric. The buttonholes on the band shall be placed in the centre between seam and edge. 16 16(23) 4.7 The short side with pocket The pocket cover to be hemmed and the corners are sewn. The pocket s corners to be sewn. The cover and the pocket are joined with the zipper. The measure of the reinforcement, between zipper end and side seams, is 20 mm and is made of coated fabric. This applies for both zipper ends. The zipper is sewn with bar tacks in both ends on the 20 mm reinforcement. The length of the zipper to be 360 mm. The zipper puller shall be provided with a strap which shall be at least 60 mm. The pocket to be attached on the short side. The lower part of the short side to be reinforced with plastic-coated fabric which is sewn to the coated fabric. The buttonhole band is attached with double seams and covers the edge of the plastic-coated fabric. The buttonholes on the band shall be placed in the centre between seam and edge. QUALITY ASSURANCE Supplier's Commitments The supplier shall establish and maintain an effective quality system that meets the requirements of EN ISO 9001, Quality management systems - Requirements. Permissible exclusion: Sub-clause 7.3, Design and development. The supplier shall provide FMV*, in good time before the start of production, with reference samples and material together with documents according to a, b, c, d, and e, listed below. The requirements in this Technical Specification must be fulfilled. a) Reference samples: 3 pcs of Carrying bags 2000 b) Test report from an independent laboratory, accredited to perform test methods required in this specification, for: Coated fabric Plastic-coated fabric c) Technical data sheet, showing that the product fulfils the requirements, for: All bands and cords Touch and close fastener Zipper Sewing thread Plastic buckle Plastic foam Label d) Separate samples of the following components shall be sent in: 2 m coated fabric 2 m plastic-coated fabric 0,5 m of all bands and cords 0,5 m touch and close fastener 2 zippers 20 m sewing thread 2 plastic buckles 0,5 m plastic foam 10 labels FMV assesses and approves the received material. 21 21(23) 6. PACKING INSTRUCTIONS 6.1 Ordering of packing The order must be in writing and sent to: FCBK, Box 1, SE Karlsborg; Sweden Fax: To state: - number of the current order, eg. LB-number - stock-number and stock-designation - desired number of boxes - number of labels per size FCBK encloses the adequate number of sealing tape required for the ordered number of boxes. 6.2 Spare packing The above mentioned packing shall be used exclusively in connection with the current order. The bottom of the boxes shall be sealed with a lengthwise sealing tape both on the inside and outside of the box. 22 22(23) 6.8 Packing Boxes not filled up N.B. More than one size in each cardboard box is not allowed. If all of one size does not fill up the whole of a box, the vacant space shall be filled up with other suitable materials. This filling must not generate dust or otherwise be detrimental to its contents. Exceptions, if any must be approved by FMV. Type of pallets 6.9 Marking Pre-printed data Figure 2. The supplier shall free of charge supply the requisite number of pallets.
