1 Aerie 1076 VOLUME 5 ISSUE #7 AUGUST 2015 ALAMEDA EAGLES People Helping People Hello Brothers, A Message From Our Worthy President INSIDE THIS ISSUE Letters From Our Presidents Officers 2 Calendar 3 Birthdays 4 Save The Date 5 Monthly Events 6 Announcements 7 Volunteers 8 1 I would like to welcome our new members for the month of July: Don Givens, Rose Sifutenez and Jenny Garibaldi. I would like to thank all who came down to the hall to celebrate the July 4th barbeque, and thank you, Kenny, for doing the cooking and all who came down that brought a dish for all to enjoy. We will be having our steak dinner on August 1st, and our pasta dinner is August 5th. Our theme dinner on August 21 is a Luau! Come on down and check out the awesome food that will be served. Our brother Judi Tansey will be doing Operation Eagle on August 29th. This is an awesome fundraiser for our military. If you have not paid your dues they are delinquent please stop by the hall or put them in the mail. I want to thank all of our brothers who have fundraiser throughout the year as the Alameda Aerie has donated about $3500 to our Eagles charities. I would also like to thank all the volunteers for the art and wine festival it was a fun event to support our community Fraternally, Lori Payne Worthy President A Message From Our Madam President Hello Sisters, It was so great to see 13 sisters at our last meeting including our newest member Carole. Also special was our own Lea who came and filled in as conductor and may I add did a great job even with a broken toe and squeaky shoes. We were able to celebrate our mom Marilou s birthday with dinner and a great cake. She didn t look a year older. With everyone being so busy with their daily lives we appreciate that you take the time to come to meetings to participate and support your auxiliary. Just as a reminder August 6th is joint officers meeting at 6 pm. This is a time when our brothers and sisters get to talk about how to make our Aerie home better and just enjoy each other s company. Until next time sisters just remember you are loved and appreciated so much. Fraternally and always with love, Carla, Madam President

8 VOLUME 5 ISSUE #7 ALAMEDA EAGLES Page 8 Please Help. Volunteer s Corner We are seeking several Eagles to assist with our rentals. The Hall is rented out by our Trustees in order to pay our insurance bills, building maintenance, etc. A typical rental is on a Saturday or Sunday and the renters need access before our normal opening hours and then someone needs to be available during the event until it concludes. Janitorial services are included on all rentals, so this is not a major cleanup detail. Wanted: Eagles to head up a fundraiser for one of our many Eagle charities. You will not be alone! Your Eagle brothers will come out to support your efforts. If you can volunteer, please contact me at lorisunshine101@att.net, , or leave a note for me at the hall. Better yet, come to the Aerie meetings the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, 7:30 pm. Thanks, Worthy President Lori Payne WE NEED MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST WITH PASTA DINNER, THEMED DINNER AND STEAK DINNER. IF EVERYONE WOULD VOLUNTEER FOR ONE OF THESE EVENTS EVEN ONCE A YEAR, THAT WOULD GIVE A BREAK TO THOSE WHO CONSISTENTLY STEP UP TO THE PLATE NO PUN INTENDED TO ASSIST WITH THESE EVENTS
