2 Williamsburg Spinners & Weavers Guild Minutes October 19, 2015 James City County Recreation Center Meeting called to order by Marsha at 10 am Guests recognized: Jenn (of Work Nimbly ), Ann, Kim Minutes of September 21 meeting were approved. Treasurer s Report: $ Old Business The exhibit at the Williamsburg Library was a great success. In 2016 we will have been invited to have a 6-week display in September and the first two weeks of October. Next meetings James City County Recreation Center, Room C, on November 16. In December we will have a potluck in Room A and show results of the sock challenge Bashes none scheduled for November or December New Business A motion was made and approved to authorize the webmaster to accept members-only advertising of fiber-related goods and services on the WSWG website for an annual fee of $10.00 per calendar year. A motion was made and approved to hold June, July, and August meetings at the James City County Library. Rosalie suggested a challenge based on a photo with a sunset theme. Entries will be due by the August 2016 meeting, with the photo exhibited next to the weaving. The guild has been invited to exhibit at Art on Main in Gloucester for the month of March Janet will organize the exhibition. It is recommended that a donation to the Guild be made by anyone selling any item as a result of a Guild sponsored event. Programs Judy will lead the Program Committee other members are Linda C, Janet, and Kathy K. Workshops Mary Beth Hawn has looked into a workshop on Tamari balls; it will be held on two days in March and be held in Sandi s timeshare on Ironbound Road, Williamsburg. There will be a limit of 12 students Show & Tell Marsha brought dish towels and a bag Judy brought a skein of yarn, handspun sweater and a run of towels Linda C brought an intriguing toy loom Sandi brought a challenge vest and Lowell, MA towels Barbara brought knit mittens Natalie brought towels, shawl and a necklace Micki D brought necklaces and a jacket Ingrid brought bison yarn & roving, and churro roving Debbie showed a painted warp blouse Janet showed a Moorman tapestry Virginia Banks, Secretary Members present Virginia B, Rosalie B, Ann B, Natalie C, Linda C, Micki D, Barbara F, Janet G, Jenn H, Mary Lou H, Kathy K, Ingrid K, Judy M, Sherry M, Sandi P, Micki P, Marsha R, Debbie R, Susan S
