1 PARADE ENTRY CRITERIA GRAND PARADE TIME 4:30 PM All registration forms must be in the hands of the Parade Official no later than January 31st, All parade numbers will be assigned a week prior to the parade. Submission of an application does not ensure a place in the parade. You will be notified by mail/ of your entries acceptance. The parade committee reserves the right to refuse any application that is not deemed appropriate for this family oriented event. All entries are required to have throws during the parade. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO THROW ITEMS ON the entire parade route this year!!! Standard items allowed as Parade throws include: BEADS, D BLOOMS, CUPS, STUFFED ANIMALS and candy. All other items to be thrown must be submitted to the parade chairman for prior approval. All parade entries MUST HAVE 2 walkers on each side of entry, this will ensure that ALL THROWS make it to the crowd safely. THROW ZONE IS THE ENTIRE PARADE ROUTE THIS YEAR. Please make sure you have tons of beads to throw. Recommended number of beads is 60 dozen = 720 pairs of beads x 4 (length of parade route) =2,880 pairs of beads. Beads may be PRE-ORDERED at a discounted price locally at Allison s Party Supplies College Drive, TX. ALLISON S PRE-ORDER DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31 ST, No Animal Entries ( including horses, and mules in the Grand Parade) Fees: No entry fees-however donations to Front Street Festival Plaza is greatly appreciated to further support the All entries must be decorated as the current theme SUPER HEROE S & MARVELS, or simply with Mardi Gras colors and decorations. Certain civic groups, such as Shriners, may be exempt from this restriction. Floats are allowed and encouraged to play music with your float. This parade is in the evening so lights are not required. However depending on the number of participants it s possible that it might go into dusk so you might be prepared to have lights. Each entry must display signs/banners on both sides of the float Walking units are encouraged to be entertaining: Clowning, performing a street routine, handling a giant inflatable, or using creative costumes. If you must cancel please give us two weeks notice. YOU MUST BE IN LINE NO LATER THAN 3:00 PM. JUDGING WILL START AT 3:30 PM. We will mail you with your parade number once the deadline is met. Awards for First, Second, and Third Place floats, bands, ect, will be given. Children must be accompanied by an adult Children are only allowed to ride their vehicles in the designated mini parade area and only during their parade. Children are allowed to have a passenger ride with them but an adult must walk on each side of the vehicle to insure that beads, stuffed animals, and candy thrown, makes it to the crowd. We cannot have children running out to retrieve items and risk getting run over.
