Entries are due no later Thursday, May 17 th, (unless otherwise stated). 2. Visit the fair s website to enter your exhibits online, or download an entry form. An Exhibitor will be charged a $4.00 processing fee for entries submitted on a paper entry form. 3. Entries must have been prepared by the exhibitor within one year prior to the opening date of the fair. No group entries unless otherwise stated. 4. Limit two (2) entries per exhibitor per class, unless otherwise stated. 5. Items entered in any other classes must be described in detail on each entry. 6. Each item must be listed separately and specifically for all entries. 7. Receiving and releasing dates and times will be strictly enforced as per state rules. 8. Unless otherwise specified, all exhibits must remain on display for the duration of the fair. 9. All state & local rules apply. 2 3-D PRINTING CHALLENGE RULES FOR 3-D PRINTING CHALLENGE: 1. Participation is subject to all state and local rules. 2. The Competition is open to Exhibitors 12 years of age and older 3. Each entry must be entirely the original work of the Exhibitor. 4. Exhibitor is solely responsible for all equipment, as well as all costs associated with entering and participating in this competition 5. Exhibit does not violate or infringe upon the patent rights, industrial design rights, copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights or other rights of any person or entity 6. Exhibit does not violate any applicable law, statute, ordinance, rule or regulation, or has been issued a patent. 7. Designs should be mechanically sound, realistic & achievable Design and fabrication using computer operated devices to include any or all of the following processes: 3-D printing CNC processing Laser processing DIVISION D PRINTING CHALLENGE MAKER CHALLENGE 1. Secondary Youth years of age 2. Post-Secondary Adult 18 years of age & older ANIMATED GRAPHIC DESIGN RULES FOR ANIMATED GRAPHIC DESIGN: 1. This division is defined as an original design with the primary purpose of allowing for the motion of objects within the design entry. 2. Software may include, but not be limited to, Flash, KidPix, etc. DIVISION 976 ANIMATED GRAPHIC DESIGN 1. Youth (ages 8-17) 2. Adult (ages 18 & older) ~ 2 ~

3 MUSIC VIDEO RULES FOR MUSIC VIDEO: 1. Video must not be longer than 3 minutes. 2 Participants must use original music and video. 3. This division is an ONLINE ENTRY ONLY ( NO paper entries DIVISION MUSIC VIDEO COOKING VIDEO CONTEST Enter a cooking video produced by YOU, featuring yourself cooking and demonstrating culinary techniques on how to make your signature dish. Your cooking skills will be judged in the Home Arts Department. Judging will be based on how you present your culinary skills, level of culinary skill, execution of technique, and creativity. RULES FOR COOKING VIDEO: 1. Submit a video featuring yourself cooking and demonstrating culinary techniques on how to make your signature dish. 2. Video should be no more than 3 minutes in length. 3. If using music, you must use royalty-free music. 4. If adding images and titles, all media must be YOUR OWN. 5. We may promote your video on our own YouTube and other social media accounts in conjunction with Fair promotion. 6. Contest is open to all individuals 12 years or older. 7. 4 VIDEO GAME LEVEL DESIGN Build video game levels using the game design tool of the contestant's choice. Make sure all games are playable by others. Level should be made with the following criteria: o Creativity, game play (fun to play/easy to use). o Level design (overall layout, concept and architecture). RULES VIDEO GAME LEVEL DESIGN: 1. Level should have SCF2017 somewhere in the level name. Example: Adventure Island SCF Submit a recorded video of the level in mov format and no longer than 2 minutes in length. 3. This division is an ONLINE ENTRY ONLY ( NO paper entries DIVISION 979 VIDEO GAME LEVEL DESIGN TOOTHPICK STRUCTURE BUILDING RULES FOR TOOTHPICK STRUCTURE BUILDING: 1. Must use a minimum of 200 toothpicks. 2. Non-toothpick objects may be used for added decoration; only 10% of the structure. 3. Toothpicks used must be wooden. 4. Please provide a short write-up describing the structure and the number of toothpicks used to create it. DIVISION 980 TOOTHPICK STRUCTURE BUILDING CONTEST ELECTRIC POWERED RADIO CONTROL CARS, TRUCKS OR AIRPLANES RULES ELECTRIC POWERED RADIO CONTROL CARS, ETC: 1. All should be in working condition. Batteries should not be attached to vehicles at entry drop-off. 2. Scale and terrain type of vehicle does not matter. 3. Judging will be based on degree of difficulty. 4. 5 MOBILE PHONE APPLICATION OR GAME RULES 1. Application must be playable/useable on a smart phone platform. Either Droid or iphone. 2. Needs to be available either through Droid Market, itunes or accessible website. Application must be free to download. 3. Must provide a write-up with a brief description of the application and where/how it can be downloaded. 4. This division is an ONLINE ENTRY ONLY ( NO paper entries accepted. You will upload your entry on our online entry system. DIVISION 982 MOBILE PHONE APPLICATION OR GAME ROBOTICS RULES 1. Projects may be constructed from kits or published drawings, modified from other devices to create new applications, or constructed from the exhibitor's own concepts and designs. 2. All entries must be a working and functional piece of electro-mechanical hardware in which movement and intent is controlled through exhibitor created programming. (Examples of commercially available kits are robotic arms or robot movers, Lego and K'Nex style building kits, Capsella, VEX, and Technics style robotics kits). 3. Devices controlled through direct, real time remote control by the exhibitor are not appropriate (ie: remote controlled cars). 4. Once started, the robotics project should operate as a stand-alone independent machine without human interaction. DIVISION 983 ROBOTICS ~ 5 ~
