Prizes will be awarded at an Award Ceremony on June 14th, 2018 to which all participants will be invited. Professional Critics To encourage the artists, five participants chosen at random will receive a written critic of their work from the jury. Regulations Those interested in entering the contest are requested to carefully read the contest regulations (p. 4 and to send their registration form (p. 3) no later than Friday, March 30, 2018.

4 Participation Rules & Regulations STATUS & RESIDENCE 1. Amateur: those who practice their art as a hobby, for their personal enjoyment, who participate in group exhibitions, and who do not have a systematic production of works for sale purposes. 2. Professional: those who have training in the profession and are recognized by other professionals (artists with the same artistic talent); practice their art regularly, have already exposed their art work at public exhibitions. (solo exhibitions) 3. The 2017 winners will not be allowed to register until 2021, except the winners of a Mention of Honor. However, they are allowed to present a work hors concours. 4. Participants must reside on the Island of Montreal. 5. Participants cannot be related to the members of the judging or organizing commit tee. The Pierrefonds-Roxboro employees and members of Council are not eligible. WORKS OF ART 6. All works must be originals, meaning exclusive creations of the participant. Participants who reproduce, even partially, works of other artists, commercial pictures, greeting cards and magazines, will be disqualified and asked to give back their prize. 7. The insurance for the work is at the expense of the participants. The Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss that could occur. FRAMING & DIMENSSIONS 8. Works without the frame: maximum of 61 cm x 76 cm (24,4» x 30,4») 9. Only framed works ready to be hanged will be accepted (eyelets, thread/wire) 10. Framing of abstract paintings (modern art) expanding into space is left to the discretion of the artists, according to their plan of creation. In all cases the works must be ready to be hanged (eyelets, thread/wire). 11. Eyelets MUST be placed onto and within the top third of the FRAME with a metal wire connecting both eyelets under tension. TOP THIRD OF FRAME

5 Participation Rules & Regulations JURY & EVALUATION 12. The jury reserves the right to verify the participant s category, to modify the registration, to cancel a category and combine one category to another in case of lack of participants. 13. The decisions of the judges are final and without appeal. The choice of the winners is based on four criteria: imagination/creativity, expression, composition and technique. 14. After the judges evaluation, the Cultural Activities Division reserves the right not to exhibit some of the works, should there not be enough space available to exhibit all the works submitted. 15. For the exhibition-sale purpose, all works must be identified with the following information: title, medium, sale price, category, name of the artist (the age is required for Youth) and telephone number. No commission will be retained on the sale price.
