The VOL Exhibition is a juried photographic exhibition of fine art. The mission of Visions of Light Exhibition [VOL] is to challenge photographers to go beyond producing a technically correct photographic image and demonstrate their use and/or control of light to help define the subject. The light can be natural or artificial; or a combination that enhances the impact, drama, emotion, and/or message of the image. The underlying theme is the vision, interpretation and use of LIGHT. Entry Criteria Requirements For Entries to be considered for the selection process: All entries must be submitted in digital format only 300 ppi, 1600 pixels long side, flattened 8 bit jpg format, srgb color space Digital frames, titles, watermarks, or artist names may not be embedded in the images. Filenames: name each entry as follows: <title> by <first initial> <last name>.jpg, separated by spaces. (e.g. Title by J Smith.jpg ) Restrictions: Entries must not have been accepted into a previous TLCA shows or Visions of Light Shows; entries not accepted in the past, may be re-submitted. Acceptance and Selection Criteria 1....vision, interpretation and use of LIGHT, VOL s underlying theme; and, the 12 Elements of a Merit Print [PPA guidelines] form the foundational selection criteria. 2. Final judging will focus upon on how the artist interprets the light, the overall impact, presentation and technical quality of the hung, finished print. See Entry Criteria below for specific entry item requirements. Shipping must not contain peanut packing material; must be received in a re-usable packing container with a pre-paid return address label If you must reschedule your delivery, please call the TLCA AT Shipped Artwork: reshipped the week of April 12th, Artwork Pickup: Mar 26, pm TLCA is not responsible for artwork left after the pick up time. Artwork may or may not be for sale. Commissions: 60 artist/40 gallery of listed. TLCA will send sales commission money to the artist no later than May 1st, Use Rights By submitting images for jurying, this Applicant grants artwork reproduction rights for current and future publicity purposes to the TLCA and Palmer Divide Photographers Group, without compensation. Exhibition Catalog - to OPT OUT: next to registration signature, write No Image in Catalog Insurance/Liability Accepted artwork is protected and insured for up to $500 while in the care and custody of the TLCA, but not during transit to, or from the show. TLCA is not responsible for artwork left after the pick up time. Artists are encouraged to consider their own insurance needs to protect their interests.
