Visit The Forum, in Norwich, to meet arts and crafts people from across Norfolk, eager to show you how to knit, sew, crochet, spin, weave, print, embroider, quilt, draw, paint, sculpt and even whittle. As well as opportunities to try out some of the skills for free, there s a programme of bookable workshops, fascinating talks and open exhibitions. Everyone is welcome at Makers Month and entrance is free. This is your chance to learn something new and discover just how creative you can be. The programme changes every few days, so check The Forum s website to plan your visits. ENTER THE MAGICAL WORLD OF THE ENCHANTED WOOD Explore the woodland home of knitted wizards, unicorns, trolls and fairies, created by knitting and crochet enthusiasts from across Norfolk. Unless otherwise stated, the exhibitions, demonstrations and activities are FREE and run from 10am 4pm each day. WOOL TEXTILES ART CRAFT SEWING SPINNING WEAVING POSTCARDS FOR PEACE A mixed media exhibition created for Makers Month by Norfolk artists and schools, working with people who are new to the UK. Each piece reflects a person s story and hopes for the future. In partnership with The Friend Ship, Norwich NATIONS OF THE WORLD Take a close look at two thousand individually embroidered postcards, representing more than two hundred countries, created by the Embroiderers Guild to mark the London Olympics. Meet local guild members from Tue 3 to Sat 7 April, and enjoy demonstrations, advice and free activities for all abilities. WORKSHOPS Why not book onto a workshop? Choose from Japanese book binding, screen printing, broomstick crochet, wet felting, Saori weaving and even extreme pom-pom making, to name just a few. With nearly three and a half thousand members, this is an organisation that loves a charity challenge and a chat.
