2 INSTRUTIONS 1. Trace the patterns for the deck (Page 7), Sides Supports, abin etc ( Page 5) on to the two plywood sheets (1) and saw them out. Sand to finish Note: The holes are drilled at a later stage! 2. Assemble an glue the stand parts as shown ut the cabin parts from the wood (3) hamfer to 45 degrees one side on the two 42 mm und 37 mm pieces. A B 45,00 45, A 4. Build the cabin from the wood (3). hamfer the parts (A/42 mm) and (B/37 mm) on one side at 45. B ut two 125mm pieces (2) Glue them on the underneath of the deck hatch. Note: Hold will be drilled at a later stage! The wooden strips must aranged correctly! 2
3 INSTURUTIONS 6. Arrange and glue the cabin on the deck hatch about 15mm in Glue the side wings on the deck. You can choose the angle yourself. Note: Fix the wings in postition whilst the glue is drying! 8. Mark out the middle at the rear of the hull. Arrange the hull on a soft underlay ( Plywood) so that it lies almost flat. Mark a hole on the middle point. Use a bradawl from both sides until the hole is large enough for the brass tube to pass through 9. ut a 25mm length from the brass tube (6) piece Remove any burr from the ends with a file. Insert the longer tube (ca. 75mm) in the opening leaving 50mm outside. Inside the tube should be about 10mm from the bottom Glue the tube in place in the hull. Glue the 25mm tube in place as shown to support the main long tube -glue to hold it in place Note: Place the hull on the stand during this process. Let the glue set properly according to the instructions from the maker! 25mm-Rohr 10mm 10. ut the brass rod (7) to 140mm and remove any burr from the ends. Insert the brass rod through the tube, leaving ca mm protruding outside, slide the tube (9) on the shaft of the motor (5) and the brass tube Lay the motor in the middle of the hull and mark out the postitions of the mountings. Note: The motor is postioned more to the front of the hull. 3
4 11. Saw from the pine strip (2) 3 pieces so that they fit in the hull as shown Glue a another couple of scrap strips of wood on top so that a height of 15mm is reached. INSTRUTIONS The top of the motor should be level with the underside of the deck - it cannot protude above the deck more athn by 3mm! Once all the strips are in place glue the whole assembly in the hull with a 2 component glue. Note heck the height of the motor and the wooden strips holding it! Mark out the middle of the holes with a pointed bradawl-( To stop the strips from splitting whilst drilling!) Fit the motor in place on the wooden strips wth the screws (10) 85mm 95mm max height above hull 3mm 12. Test: Add the propeller (8) to the shaft (7) Join the motor and shaft with the tube (9). Wind up the motor and make a test run If it works fine carry on with the project. Should any faults occur, sort them out at this stage.( Adjust position of the motor etc ) 13. Paint the deck, hatch cover and cabin Note: To protect against water ingress clear varnish all the wooden parts for protection. Leave all the parts to dry properly! 14. Glue the deck to the hull with a two component glue. ( Read instructions on the tubes ) Use modelleing clamps to hold the deck in place on hull whilst the glue is drying 15. Lay the cover in the hole in the deck and mark out where the key will go. ut a 8-10mm hole for the kexy ( Use a fretsaw ) Your boat project is now finished 4
