1 HK-1- Name Plate Fold a piece of plain paper in half so that it stands up. Add your name in big full letters that is easy to read. Decorate and add colour. You may choose to do this on the computer if you do not have materials at home. Make it personal to you by adding images and colours that represent your personality.

2 HK- 2 -Gargoyle Moodboard Research a wide range of interesting Gargoyle images based on their shapes, facial expression and textures. Fill an A4/A3 piece of paper to create a moodboard. Vary the size of images and cut around some for a more eye catching layout.

3 HK- 3- Mythical Creatures (2 tasks) Research images of Mythical creatures like a Centaur, Sphinx, Griffin, Unicorn etc be prepared to do a copy of one of the images so don t pick something too difficult. Produce an A5 copy of the piece that you researched for homework last week. If the image is complicated then you may choose to take a section and enlarge it or use the grid method. Make sure that your outline is light, neat and accurate. Add full tone and neat gradual blending.

4 HK- 4-3D Gargoyle Create a 3D sculpture of a gargoyle out of a material of your choice - salt dough, clay, wood, papier mache, fabric?... Do you want to make the whole Gargoyle or just the head? How will you add colour- acrylic paint, watercolour, sponge effect for texture?... Do you need to find an internet image to help you produce a realistic sculpture?

5 HK-5 -Jasper Johns Homework Student Example Research the artist Jasper Johns and find this image Numbers in Color ( ) Print out on A4 paper. Draw out the numbers 1-9 bold and thick. Draw them inside a box like the example above- add really bright colour and patterns to your numbers to make yours look like the work of Jasper Johns. Think about what interesting fonts you could use for each number.

6 HK- 6- Still life in Colour Week 1-Research still life images for this week. Find a few images and prepared to do a copy of one of the pieces so don t pick something too difficult. Week 2/3-Produce an A5/A4 copy of one of the images you chose for homework last week. If the image is complicated then you may choose to take a section and enlarge it or use the grid method. 7 HK-7 -Layered Numbers Draw out a series of numbers in different fonts and sizes and overlap them. Pick out a selection of 5 colours and use only these 5 colours to add to your design e.g. Pink, purple, green, blue and white. Use any media of your choice. Student Examples

10 HK-10 - Clay Dictionary Homework Task 1: Choose one of the following words below to fill in the blank part of the sentence is used to attach pieces of clay together. You score/cut diagonal lines into both sides of the clay. It acts like clay Velcro and stops separate bits falling off when the clay has dried. When you attach a piece of clay onto another piece it makes the surface looks raised, this is called a...surface. When the clay is...it means that I can push, shape and move the clay into any desired shape as it is still soft and damp. When my clay has nearly dried out, it is easier for me to cut out shapes and carve/engrave into the surface; this is called I cut into the surface of the clay slightly with a knife or sharp object to draw in details. 12 HK-11 -Sweet Wrapper Homework You will need to collect a selection of sweet/chocolate wrappers. Pick the one that is the most eye catching and cut it in half. Stick down one of the halves and draw in the missing half. You will need to copy the exact lettering and colour in coloured pencil.

13 1)Stick down all of your sweet and crisp wrappers down onto A4 paper. No white gaps of paper should show through. 2)Take a small section of your collage and enlarge onto A4 paper (you will need to trace the outline) and fill in with solid bold pencil crayon. Student Examples 3)After drawing out your section freehand or tracing the outline, add solid bold colour in coloured pencil. Make sure you press hard to achieve solid colours and make sure that there are no white gaps in between. You may choose to use an alternative media like making your section as a relief clay tile

14 HK-13 - Roy Lichtenstein Homework Research the work of American Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. Bullet point 5 facts about this artist; choose a piece by him and produce a colour copy of it. Remember to add bold, neat and solid colour. Student Examples

15 Produce a drawing of a 3D cube. Add tone. Look carefully and decide your light angle.

16 Produce a tonal drawing of your chosen animal- use all tones and highlights. Be smooth and detailed. You can do a section- head or whole body.

17 First research How to draw a face so that you can get the proportions correct. Then add tones and highlights

18 Produce a drawing of a gargoyle. Stick to black, white and grey tones. Be mindful with tones and try to increase the amount of dark tones you use. Look carefully at the images here to see how dark they are. Make sure your drawing is accurate first. Use charcoal to get the dark tones and remember highlights

19 Produce a coloured pencil drawing of a piece of fruit. Make sure you have a detailed and accurate outline first and then make sure you layer colours and vary the pressure of the colours. Look at these examples to help you

20 Your exam is coming up and you have received the images that you are being given as inspiration. You now need to plan your exam time What images will you do? What media will you use? What colours will you use? What technique will you use? Provide a test of the image that you have chosen, play with colours, styles and techniques. Decide what you will do and bring the plan to the exam. Remember you can find your own image as long as you have had it approved by your teacher.

23 Create your own abstract face and add colour. Note the similarities of these images and include them in your abstract face

24 Produce an image of an object built up from different papers. You can do any object you like and use as many different papers as you like. Begin with the outline of the object and then fill by gluing papers down.

25 Decide which animal or head of an animal is good to draw? Draw this accurately and then have fun adding any colours in any way? Look at these examples for ideas.

No more than one side of A4 paper ADVICE Present it creatively You have done lots of blending, building and other techniques- can you show this in the border or design of the evaluation? Will you type it and decorate?

27 Top Tips: Keep it small Choose a simple pattern for the background Do the gargoyle in black and grey and outline everything in black!! Create your own gargoyle stained glass design. Add colourful shaped glass behind any gargoyle of your choice. Make sure it has a black outline.

29 Research the movement of pop art. Get the definition and some images by artists. Mount his research on a piece of paper and copy one of the pieces you have found. Add full colour.

30 Create a page of images of artwork based on letters- try to find as many different ones. This pages shows some by Alison Carmicheal. Find others and stick them on a page and draw one with adding colour.

33 You need to find as many different images of letters as you can, they need to be decorative. You need to print them out and then stick them down, some behind and some in front. Make sure they are secure.

Find out some interesting facts about him e.g. Birth date, What type of art work, most famous piece of work, where he lives, when he was famous. 36 HK-35- Research the artist Sara Fanelli and research a few images of her work. You will need to collect a range of different patterned papers and textural materials to create your own piece inspired by Sara Fanelli. Have you got a favourite quote or idiom you would like to use? E.G. It s raining cats and dogs

37 HK-36- Letter Fonts Research and draw a different font for each letter of the alphabet. This can be either hand drawn or done on the computer. Try and find the most quirky unusual fonts and add COLOUR.

38 HK-37- Repeat Patterns Divide a plain A4 piece of paper into either 4 or 16 sections. Lightly draw a letter of your choice in the first box- then take this image and produce a mirror image in the next sectionrepeat this until your design is complete. You may choose to add bold, neat colour or build up layers of card for a relief 3D design.
