1 Quill News March Custom Quilling Supplies is celebrating an anniversary! We invite you to come celebrate with us!! CQ opened its online doors March 15, 2004 with the idea of offering a unique selection of supplies to our students. The word quickly spread and our customer base grew! CQ prides itself in presenting the latest in supplies, ideas, and techniques; helping you fulfill all your quilling dreams. To thank all of our wonderful customers and friends for their ongoing support, we will be offering gifts throughout the month of March. Each week a $10.00 gift will be ed to one randomly picked customer, free patterns will be offered, along with the weekly specials which will be posted on the home page of the store. 3 Page 3 Air Freshener Have you ever been out shopping and run across an item that SCREAMS to you, You should buy me and put quilling on me!? Well, that is exactly what happened with this Febreze Sit and Refresh air freshener. I started by making tight coils to adhere to the front so the opening on the air freshener was not blocked, then I glued my die cuts to the coils. Next I added the skeleton leaf, layering the quilling on top of that. Now it is not yelling at me any longer, just sitting prettily in its place making the room smell fresh and looking beautiful!

4 Page 4 con t from pg3 Bunny s Back Card The colors in the kit inspired this card. I layered the cardstock and fabric stickers to create some depth using pop dots. Then I added my little quilled bunny along with his favorite flowers and some grass to munch on. The added touches for this card are the Martha Stewart edge punch, the Sizzix Texture Boutique, Cuttlebug Swiss dot embossing folder, glimmer mist, and chalk. Add your own sentiment to make this card for Easter or spring. Use the sentiment in this card to make it a combined greeting. I know, I know last month I did a magnet; please forgive me for another this month. Looking through my stash of goodies to quill on, I found this little wooden fence. It needed some spring flowers, don t you think? I will share with you how I made the little pink star flowers. I dragged out my little elongated diamond hand punch. Punched five of them and then folded them in half.very tiny, careful don t lose them! Next I rolled a tight coil and formed it into a grape roll. With tweezers apply a tiny dab of glue to the folded edge of the folded diamonds and place them all side by side around the grape roll as pictured a cute little flower! Except for the fringed flowers, I used all of my mini punches; they were just the right size and fun to play with.go get yours out and start playing too. 5 Page 5 con t from pg5 Daffodil Psalms The yellow card stock in this month s kit was so bright and sunny it needed to be made into cheery daffodils that would look nice accenting Psalms 27:4. I punched out the petals and edged them in yellow ink for depth. The center cups are made from coffee filter paper and water colored with shimmer paints. I will have to do more of these. Quilled Headband Because my oldest granddaughter is a girly girl and loves headbands, I made this project for her. The simple 5 petal flowers have pearl centers and are mounted on a satin padded headband. She is the model in the picture and I couldn t get it off of her after the pictures were done. Easy but fun project

6 Page 6 Mini Album with Quilled Flowers Here is another project that I have wanted to do - a mini album as I love finding new things to embellish with quilling. I love all the little pockets and tags that are in so many cute ones that I have seen being made. The expandable binding makes it perfect to accommodate the quilled flower embellishments inside. I used the same flowers as the headband and used crystals for blingy centers. Each page has several pockets and places for pictures and tags for journaling. I used manila shipping tags and other tags cut with my die cutter. The fabric stickers also found a perfect match on the pages.

7 Page 7 Reviews Sue With all of the snow so far here in the Midwest, Custom Quilling s kit is just in time to clear away the winter BLAHS! The colors are very springy! Included in the kit this month are a pack of multicolor pastel quilling strips, a cool skeleton leaf, some buttons, cloth strip stickers (really cool) and pastel cardstock instant spring! Sonya It s spring, or just hoping it is with this month s kit. Dig out from the snow and blankets to create bright and cheery projects with the spring-like papers and strips this month!
