1 6 x 6 Mini Accordion Pocket Album Designed By: Debbie Naylor May 2010 Here is a 6 x 6 mini scrapbook album that is perfect for capturing memories of your children, grandchildren, or BFF s. When fully opened, it holds several pictures and even has an accordion pocket to add your journaling, additional photos, and mementos. This album would also make a great gift for Father s Day! Instructions Step 1 Use a Paper Cutter to cut in half a sheet of 12 x 12 Real Red card stock so that you end up with two pieces that are 12 x 6. Score both at 5-1/4 and 6 on the 12 side using a Bone Folder and your Paper Cutter. Step 1

2 Step 2 Laying the 6 scored sides to the outside, overlap the two pieces so that there is a ¾ gap thus creating a middle piece that is 6 wide with two outside pieces that are also 6 wide. Glue the pieces together using Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive, being careful not to apply the adhesive where the two pieces do not overlap. Step 2 Step 3 Using SNAIL adhesive, attach a piece of 4-1/2 x 1 striped Island Oasis Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the bottom area of a 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock (leave about 1 of Tempting Turquoise showing on the bottom). Run this piece through the Big Shot using the Clear Scallop Square Bigz die. Adhere a piece of 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 Pumpkin Pie card stock to the center of a piece of 5 x 5 So Saffron card stock. Attach your square scallop piece in the center of that square. Step 3

3 Step 4 To create your Memories title, use the Designer Label punch and the 12 x 3 strip of polka-dotted DSP and punch out eight pieces and run them through the Big Shot using the Go Go Boots Alphabet set die. Be sure and put the polka-dotted side of the DSP facing down on the die. Attach these letters to the Tempting Turquoise scallop square piece using a 2-Way Glue Pen. Step 4 Step 5 Using the large flower image from the Tropical Party stamp set and a Real Red Classic Stampin Pad, stamp a flower onto a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and cut it out with your Paper Snips. Create a hole in the center of the flower for a Tempting Turquoise brad by using the Paper Piercing Tool and the Mat Pack. Attach the flower embellishment to the strip of DSP using a Stampin Dimensional. Adhere the scallop square piece to the Pumpkin Pie/So Saffron square using SNAIL adhesive. Using the Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack, create four holes in each corner of the scallop piece and add four red brads, going through all the card stock layers. Step 5

4 Step 6 Fold the album closed (right side first, then the left page will come over last and will be the cover of your album) and wrap the piece of Old Olive satin ribbon around from the right to the left and back behind, centering it so that you have equal tails on the right to tie the album shut. Attach it with SNAIL adhesive in the center section of the cover only to hold the ribbon to the album. Now adhere the So Saffron embellished square on the front cover using Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive, securing the ribbon in place. Flip the album over to the back and pull the ribbon tight and adhere it in the center using SNAIL adhesive. Take the 4-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock and attach it to the center of the backside of the album using Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive this will also help hold the ribbon in place. This is a great spot to add your Hand-Stamped By stamp. Step 6 Step 7 Open up the front cover to reveal the back right-side 6 x 6 page. Embellish it by attaching the 6 x 1-1/2 strip of striped DSP to the right-side of the page using SNAIL adhesive. Attach a 5 x 5 square of So Saffron card stock using SNAIL adhesive. Run the 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of polka-dotted DSP through the Big Shot using the Scallop Square Clear Bigz die and then attaché it using SNAIL adhesive. Create a photo mat by attaching a piece of 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 square of Pumpkin Pie card stock to the center using SNAIL adhesive. Step 7

5 Step 8 Open the album fully and create the left page by attaching the 6 x 3 piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock to the bottom of the page with SNAIL adhesive. Layer a 6 x 1-1/4 strip of the striped DSP across the center of the page using SNAIL adhesive. Using the Designer Label punch and the 12 x 3 piece of polka-dotted DSP, punch out seven pieces to create the FRIENDS lettering with the Big Shot and Go Go Boots Alphabet dies. Remember to lay the polka-dotted side of the DSP facing down on the die. Attach the letters across the bottom of the page using a 2-Way Glue Pen. Create a photo mat for the page by attaching a 5 x 4 piece of Old Olive card stock to the page using SNAIL adhesive. Step 8 Step 9 Now open the album fully and embellish the right page by attaching a strip of 6 x 1-3/4 striped DSP to the right-side using SNAIL adhesive. Use the smallest flower image stamp from the Tropical Party set and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, and Old Olive Classic Stampin Pads, being sure to clean the stamp each time with Stampin Mist and a Stampin Scrub before changing colors. Cut out the flowers using the Paper Snips and add a brad to the center of each. Attach to the page using Stampin Dimensionals. Add the 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock using SNAIL adhesive. Step 9

6 Step 10 Take five Whisper White medium envelopes and flip the envelope flap backwards. Add SNAIL adhesive where indicated in pink in the photo below. Attach the envelopes together as pictured, with the top envelope pocket open at the front. Set the accordion pocket envelopes aside while you create the accordion pocket cover. Step 10 Step 11 To create the cover embellishment for the pocket cover, create a partial hole in the center of the long side of a 5-3/4 x 4-3/8 piece of Real Red card stock by turning the Designer Label Punch upside down and punching through just part of it as pictured in the photo. Step 11

7 Step 12 Attach the 5-3/4 x 3 piece of striped DSP across the center of the Real Red card stock using SNAIL adhesive. Stamp the word cherish with the Basic Black Classic Stampin Pad on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and punch it out using the Designer Label punch (by turning the punch upside down, you can see to center the word in the punch window). Attach this punched piece to the center of the striped DSP using SNAIL adhesive. Attach the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware label frame to the card stock with Old Olive brads use the Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to create the holes, going all the way through the DSP and Real Red card stock layers. Step 12 Step 13 Center the 5-3/4 x 5-3/4 piece of polka-dotted DSP to the center page to help hide the seam where the card stock was put together. Attach the accordion pocket envelopes to this piece using SNAIL adhesive. Add the embellished Real Red card stock piece to the front of the envelope pocket using SNAIL adhesive, being careful not to put any adhesive on the envelope opening. Step 13

8 Step 14 Create the inserts for the pockets by attaching a 5-1/4 x 4 Whisper White card stock piece to the center of the 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 pieces of Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, and Old Olive card stock using SNAIL adhesive. Attach a strip of 5-1/2 x 1 piece of striped DSP to the centers of the So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 card stock pieces using SNAIL adhesive. Use the remaining two pieces of 5-1/4 x 4 Whisper White card stock with the Big Shot and the Top Note Bigz die to create Top Notes to add to the So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie inserts. Create your tabs for the pages by using the Round Tab punch with scraps of So Saffron, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Tempting Turquoise card stock. Fold these in half and attach them to the insert pages as shown below, using Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive. Step 14 Step 15 Complete your album with photos and journaling. Step 14
