1 Island Oasis Memo Board Designed By: Jane Nishiguchi May 2010 For those of us who live in these beautiful Hawaiian Islands this Island Oasis Memo Board is perfect all year round! And we share this with you along with a big A-lo-ha! Instructions Step 1 Start by preparing 9-3/8 x 9-3/8 Monstera Leaf Print from Island Oasis designer series paper (DSP) to fit On Board Book Basics Large. Round all four corners of Island Oasis DSP with 3/16 Corner Rounder punch. Check to make sure each corner is inserted all the way into the guides before engaging punch. See photo Step 1b. Photo Step 1c shows rounded corners that fit nicely with the On Board Book Basics Large.

Carefully place Island Oasis DSP on top with leaves face up. The Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive is somewhat forgiving and allows for minor adjustments after DSP is placed. When all edges are lined up, smooth from center out towards edges using a Décor Elements applicator. See Photo Step 2b. Note: Be quick but careful when applying Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive to achieve a nice smooth surface. If the Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive is allowed to dry, it will leave an uneven surface that will be noticeable when the Décor Elements Chalkboard sheet is placed. Step 2a Step 2b Step 3 Use Sanding Block to finish edges.

Align Crop-A-Dile and punch 3/16 hole. Repeat for upper left corner. Step 4a Step 4b Step 4c Step 5 Set Pewter jumbo eyelets with Crop-A-Dile. Be sure the top and base of the Crop-A-Dile are set to the proper settings. For the Pewter jumbo eyelets, top should be A and base should be 1. Refer to photo Step 5a. Photos Step 5b and Step 5c show front and back views of set Pewter jumbo eyelet.

Step 5a Step 5b Step 5c Step 6 Wrap 1-3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Island Oasis DSP

Step 6a. Peel off backing of Sticky Strip and adhere Island Oasis DSP.

Peel off backing and adhere to back portion of binding strip.

Front of half Junior Legal Pad will look like this see photo Step 6c.

4 Step 5a Step 5b Step 5c Step 6 Wrap 1-3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Island Oasis DSP around top of half Junior Legal Pad making sure front portion of binding strip is covered. Crease well. Apply Sticky Strip to the front portion of the binding strip as shown in photo Step 6a. Peel off backing of Sticky Strip and adhere Island Oasis DSP. For back, apply Sticky Strip to wrong side of Island Oasis DSP. Peel off backing and adhere to back portion of binding strip. Refer to photo Step 6b. Front of half Junior Legal Pad will look like this see photo Step 6c. Photo Step 6d shows side view. Step 6a Step 6b Step 6c Step 6d Step 7 Next create placement guidelines. First, lightly draw a horizontal pencil line 1/2 from top edge of board. Lightly draw a horizontal pencil line 7/8 from bottom edge of board. Lightly draw vertical lines 3/4 from right and left edges. Lightly draw two vertical pencil lines to complete two rectangles. The rectangle on the left

will be 2-1/2 x 8 and the one on the right will be 5 x 8.

This is done by slowly peeling away backing and positioning one edge of Décor Elements Chalkboard sheet within positioning guidelines. See photo Step 8a. Continue to peel away backing and apply the rest of the Décor Elements Chalkboard sheet. Use Décor Elements Applicator to smooth starting from the center and working outward. See photo Step 8b. Step 9 Apply Sticky Strip to back of half Junior Legal pad.

6 Step 9 Apply Sticky Strip to back of half Junior Legal pad. See photo Step 9a. Peel backing and place on left side of memo board following positioning guidelines. Add Pewter jumbo eyelets where marked. See photos Step 9b and 9c. Erase any pencil markings that are showing after Décor Elements Chalkboard sheet, half Junior Legal pad, and Pewter jumbo eyelets are added. Step 9a Step 9b Step 9c

Step 10 Find center of 41 piece of Pumpkin Pie 1-1/4

Create two loops, one on each side of center as shown

7 Step 10 Find center of 41 piece of Pumpkin Pie 1-1/4 striped grosgrain ribbon by folding in half. Create two loops, one on each side of center as shown in photo Step 10a. Take one loop in each hand and make an X as shown in photo Step 10b. Draw the top loop over and through the bottom of the X as shown in photo Step 10c. Your bow will look like this. See photo Step 10d. Even out the two loops and the ends, pull the two loops tight. Step 12 Tie a knot at the end of both ribbons by making a loop at the end

Trim ends with Craft and Paper scissors.

Repeat for Rose Red using Rose Red Stampin Classic Pad and Cherry Cobbler using Ruby Red Classic Stampin Pad. See photo Step 16a. Cut out small flower images from scrap card stock with Paper Snips.

Cut out with Paper Snips. Use 1/16 circle punch to punch holes in leaves as shown in photo Step 17b. Photo Step 17b shows pieces we will be using to embellish our memo boards. Step 17a Step 17b Step 18 Use a Paper-Piercing tool and Paper-Piercing pad to pierce holes in the centers of the cut out small flowers. See photo Step 18a. Layer Rose Red small cut out flower on top of small die cut flower and place So Saffron brad in the center. Repeat with Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie flowers. Use a Ruby Red brad for Pumpkin Pie

11 flower. Add dimension to flower petals using a Bone Folder to curl petals. See photo Step 18b. Flowers will look like those in photo Step 18c.
