1 Holiday Decorative Plate Collection Designed By: Amy Storrie October 2013 You will love having this beautiful plate displayed in your home year round. Each of the eight inserts has a Velcro back so that you can easily switch out the center each month for the appropriate holiday. Or, when you are not in a holiday month, use the generic everyday insert. This would also make a wonderful gift for a special friend or family member. Instructions Step 1 Non- Holiday Everyday Insert:

2 1a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of the mosaic design from Naturals Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) for your base. Round all four corners with the 3/16 Corner punch. (I used the corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board.) Cut a piece of Modern Medley DSP (music design) to 5-1/2 x 2-3/4. Round the two corners on the right side then adhere it to the right side of the base piece of card stock. Stamp the large splatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Crumb Cake ink randomly all over the entire background. (1b) Cut a 5-1/2 piece of 1-1/4 Burlap ribbon and adhere between two background DSP pieces using Mini Glue Dots. (1c) Stamp the secret of life stamp from the From My Heart stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with the Big Shot using the large label from Apothecary Accents Framelits. (1d) Stamp again on a smaller piece of Very Vanilla card stock in Soft Suede ink and then cut out Enjoying using Paper Snips. (1e) Attach on top of Enjoying on cut out label using small pieces of Stampin Dimensionals. 1b 1c 1d 1e Using the Paper-Piercing Tool and the Stampin Pierce Mat, pierce a hole in each end of the label. (1f) Stick a Basic Black Candy Dot from the Neutrals Candy Dots in the center of two Candy Dot Brad Bases. (1g) Attach brads in pierced holes on label. Cut a 6 x 4-1/2 piece of the mosaic design paper from the Modern Medley DSP and cut out with the Big Shot using the Oval Accent Bigz Clear die. (1h) Attach Very Vanilla label to Modern Medley Oval Accent label using Stampin Dimensionals. (1i) Cut a 1-1/2 x ½ piece of Basic Black card stock and make a flag end using the 1 Square punch. (1j) Tie a piece of Linen Thread through a Very Vintage Designer button (one of the smaller sizes) into a bow. Attach to black flag using Mini Glue Dots then attach to upper left corner of base (1a) using Mini Glue Dots. Attach label to base as shown.

3 1f 1g 1h Step 2 New Year s Insert: 1i 1j 1k 2a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Island Indigo card stock and round all four corners. Cut a 5-1/2 x 3 piece of Winter Frost Specialty DSP (pattern as shown). Round the bottom two corners and adhere to bottom of base. Cut a 5-1/2 x 1 piece of Silver Foil Sheet and emboss using the Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder. (2b) Adhere embossed Silver Foil to base along the top edge of Winter Frost DSP. (2a) Cut an 11 piece of Silver 1/8 Ribbon and wrap around base below Silver Foil piece. Adhere ends to front of base using Mini Glue Dots. Cut a 7 piece of Silver 1/8 ribbon and tie into a bow. Adhere to Silver ribbon on base using Mini Glue Dots. (2c) Cut one piece of Whisper White card stock to 3-1/2 x 2-1/8 and one piece to 1 x 2-1/8 and stamp Best Wishes from the Best New Year stamp set in VersaMark ink on the bigger piece and stamp the fireworks stamp from Best New Year in VersaMark ink on the smaller piece. After stamping each piece, cover with Silver embossing powder and shake off excess powder. (2d) Heat emboss using a Heat Tool. (2e)

4 2b 2c 2d 2e Using your Paper Snips, cut along the bottom edge of the bigger embossed piece, following the curve and leaving approximately 1/8 of white on the edge. Then do the same with the smaller embossed piece, cutting along the top edge. (2f) Adhere both pieces to a 4-1/8 x 2-1/4 piece of Silver Foil, leaving space in between the two pieces. (2g) Using a string of rhinestones from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels, stick in between the two white pieces, following the curve. (2g) Cut a piece of Pool Party card stock to 4-1/4 x 2-3/8 and adhere the Silver Foil sheet to it. Then, using Glue Dots, adhere a Frosted Finishes Embellishment to the top right corner. (2h) Attach the entire greeting piece to base using Stampin Dimensionals. (2a) Step 3 Valentine s Insert: 2f 2g 2h 3a

5 Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Blushing Bride card stock. Round all four corners. Cut a Real Red polka dot piece to 5-1/4 x 2 from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack. Round the bottom two corners and adhere to bottom of Blushing Bride base. (3a) Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to 5-1/4 x 3-1/4 and round the top two corners. Stamp the Be My Valentine stamp from the Delightful Dozen stamp set on the bottom right corner of the Basic Black card stock in Whisper White Craft Ink. Cover with White embossing powder and shake off excess powder. Heat emboss using a Heat Tool. Using a piece of a Stamping Sponge dipped in Whisper White Craft Ink, swipe across Basic Black card stock randomly to look like eraser marks on a chalk board. (3b) Cut a piece of Blushing Bride ¾ Chevron ribbon to 7-1/2 and wrap around front below Basic Black card stock and adhere ends on back using Mini Glue Dots. (3c) Cut another piece of Blushing Bride ¾ Chevron Ribbon to 13 and tie into a bow. Adhere to front using Mini Glue Dots. (3d) Cut a piece of Whisper White Baker s Twine to 5-1/2 and attach from one side to the top right corner of Basic Black card stock using Mini Glue Dots. (3d) 3b 3c 3d Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to 4-1/4 x 3 and stamp each of the following stamps from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set: striped banner in Strawberry Slush ink; curved scallop edge banner in Real Red ink; and chevron heart in Coastal Cabana ink. Cut each one out using the coordinating Hearts a Flutter Framelits. (3e) Cut a piece of Coastal Cabana polka dot DSP from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack to 2 x 1-1/2 and cut out with the banner Hearts a Flutter framelit as shown. (3e) Attach each banner/heart along the twine using Stampin Dimensionals. Pull down slightly when sticking the dimensional on the twine to create a swag. (3g) Tie two pieces of Whisper White Baker s Twine into bows and adhere to each end of banner using Mini Glue Dots. (3g) Punch the following pieces of card stock: Blushing Bride - one mini scallop circle and one mini flower (Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack); Real Red one smallest flower (Boho Blossoms punch); Strawberry Slush one mini flower (Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack); Coastal Cabana one smallest flower and one medium flower (Boho Blossom punch) (3f) Decorate each banner as shown using the punched flowers, one small Rhinestone Basic Jewel, one smallest Vintage Faceted Designer button, one Real Red Candy Dot (Brights Candy Dots), one Blushing Bride Candy Dot (Subtles Candy Dots) and one large Pearl Basic Jewel (3h, 3i, 3j, 3k) Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere all pieces to banners.

6 3e 3f 3g Step 4 Easter Insert: 3h 3i 3j 3k 4a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Round all four corners. Cut a 5-1/4 x 1-1/2 piece of paper (Coastal Cabana diamond pattern as shown in 4a) from the Afternoon Picnic DSP. Round the left two corners and adhere to left side of base. Cut a 5-1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Very Vanilla card stock and round the right two corners. Emboss using the Big Shot and the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder (4b) and adhere to the right side of base card stock. Cut a 5-1/4 x ½ piece of the yellow round design paper from the Afternoon Picnic DSP. Cut a 5-1/4 piece of Coastal Cabana 3/8 Ruffle Stretch Trim and adhere to back of strip of yellow DSP using Mini Glue Dots. (4c) Adhere strip to base between embossed vanilla card stock and blue DSP. (4a) On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, stamp the largest tag from the Chalk Talk stamp set in

7 Coastal Cabana ink and stamp the second largest tag from the Chalk Talk stamp set in Crushed Curry ink. Cut out using the Big Shot and Chalk Talk Framelits. (4d) Also cut out the long tag from the Chalk Talk framelits using a piece of the Wisteria Wonder grid design paper from the Afternoon Picnic DSP. (4d) Using adhesive, adhere the purple tag under the yellow tag. Adhere to the big blue tag using Stampin Dimensionals, covering up the words on the tag. (4e) 4b 4c 4d 4e On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, stamp the Happy Easter stamp from the Delightful Dozen stamp set in Baked Brown Sugar ink. Punch out using the Extra-Large Oval punch. (4f) Adhere to the top of the yellow tag using Stampin Dimensionals. (4g) Cut a 6 piece of 7/8 Cotton ribbon and wrap through the opening at the top of the large tag. Cut a 6 piece of Linen Thread and tie around ribbon in a bow to secure. (4h) 4f 4g 4h Attach assembled tag onto the base as shown using Stampin Dimensionals. (4a) On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock stamp 2 of the flowers shown from the Flower Shop stamp set in Wisteria Wonder ink, then punch out using the Pansy punch. (4i) Adhere flowers as shown using Stampin Dimensionals. (4j) Stick a pearl from the Large Pearl Basic Jewels in the center of each flower. (4j) 4i 4j

8 Step 5 Independence Day Insert: 5a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Midnight Muse card stock. Round all four corners and then emboss the left half of the card stock using the Big Shot and Stripes embossing folder. (5b) Cut one of each of the two straight banners from the Bitty Banners framelits using Cherry Cobbler card stock. (5c) Cut each one in half and adhere them to the right bottom of the base as shown. (5d) 5b 5c 5d Cut a 5-1/2 x 2 piece of the blue chevron design paper from the Etcetera DSP. Adhere it to the base over the banners as shown. (5e) Cut an 18 piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and wrap around base along the right side of the chevron DSP and tie in a knot toward the top. (5a) Punch out three stars from Cherry Cobbler card stock using the mini star punch from the Merry Minis Punch Pack (carryover from last year s Holiday Catalog). Adhere the stars to the top left corner of the base as shown using Stampin Dimensionals. (5f) Stamp the Celebrate stamp from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a 4 x 1 piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Punch end with the 1 Square punch to make a flag end. (1j) Adhere to base using Stampin Dimensionals as shown. (5g) (5a)

9 Step 6 Halloween Insert: 5e 5f 5g 6a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic Black card stock. Round all four corners. Cut a 2 x 5-1/2 piece of the black background with orange spiders paper from the Witches Brew DSP. Round the top two corners and adhere to the top of the base card stock. Cut a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of the striped paper from the Witches Brew DSP. Round the bottom two corners and adhere to the bottom of the base card stock. Cut a 24 piece of the Summer Starfruit 3/8 Stitched Satin ribbon and wrap around base along the top of the striped DSP and tie in a bow on the right side. (6b) Cut a 5-1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Stamp the Celebrate a Creepy Crawly Halloween stamp from the Halloween Bash stamp set in Black StazOn ink. (6c) Apply a row of each of the Witches Brew Washi Tapes below and above the greeting on the card stock. (6d) Cut out using the Big Shot and the largest label die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits. 6b 6c 6d 6e

10 Stamp the creepy portion of the same stamp onto a 1 x 3 piece of Basic Black card stock using VersaMark ink. Sprinkle Heat & Stick Powder over creepy (6f) and heat emboss using the Heat Tool. Sprinkle orange glitter from the Black & Orange Stampin Glitter over the sticky creepy and shake off excess. (6g) Cut out creepy in a rectangle. (6h) Adhere over the creepy on the label using Stampin Dimensionals. (6i) Pierce a hole on the top and bottom of the label between the chevron and newsprint washi tapes using the Paper-Piercing Tool and Stampin Pierce Mat. Attach a Basic Black glimmer brad from the Basics 3/8 Glimmer Brads through each hole. (6i) Adhere label to base as shown using Stampin Dimensionals. (6a) Step 7 Thanksgiving Insert: 6f 6g 6h 6i 7a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Chocolate Chip card stock for the base. Round all four corners. Cut a 5-1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of Very Vanilla card stock and round the bottom two corners. Stamp the leaf from the Magnificent Maple stamp set in Crushed Curry ink toward the center / right side of the Very Vanilla card stock. (7b) Adhere to the bottom of the card stock base. Cut a 5-1/2 x 2-1/4 piece of Tangerine Tango card stock and round the top two corners. Emboss using the Big Shot and the Square Lattice embossing folder. (7c) Adhere to the top of the card stock base. Cut a 5-1/2 x ¾ piece of the brown/orange/yellow plaid paper from the Sweater Weather DSP. Adhere to the top of the Very Vanilla card stock and over the bottom edge of the Tangerine Tango card stock (7b) Using the Big Shot and the Gift Bow Bigz L die, cut out a large bow piece and the two end pieces from the yellow plaid paper from the Sweater Weather DSP. (7d) Fold the bow piece and secure the ends underneath using Mini Glue Dots. (7e)

11 7b 7c 7d 7e Attach each of the bow end pieces underneath the box using Mini Glue Dots. (7f) Cut a ½ piece of the 1-1/4 Burlap ribbon (7f) and wrap around center of the bow, securing ends behind with Mini Glue Dots. (7g) Adhere the bow to the top of the base using Mini Glue Dots (7a). On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, stamp the Happy Thanksgiving stamp from the Tags 4 You stamp set using Tangerine Tango ink. Punch out with the Label Bracket punch (7h). Cut a 3 piece of 1-1/4 Burlap ribbon and cut in half lengthwise. Pull threads loose on each end as shown. (7i) Attach the Burlap ribbon to the back side of the Happy Thanksgiving label using Mini Glue Dots. Stick two medium Pearl Basic Jewels on the top and bottom of the label as shown. (7j) Adhere label to base using Stampin Dimensionals. (7b) 7f 7g 7h 7i 7j

12 Step 8 Christmas Insert: 8a Begin with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Round all four corners. Cut a 5-1/2 x 2 piece of the red plaid paper from the Season of Style DSP. Round the bottom two corners and adhere to the bottom of the base. Cut a 5-1/2 x ¼ piece of the triangle multi-colored pattern paper from the Season of Style DSP. Adhere on the top edge of the red plaid DSP. Stamp the Joy to the World stamp from the Joy to the World stamp set on the right side of the Crumb Cake card stock base right above the ¼ strip of DSP. (8b) Cut the following pieces of DSP from the Season of Style DSP: green dot pattern 5/8 x 4-1/4 ; small multi-colored dot ½ x 3-1/4 ; red star pattern 5/8 x 2-1/4 ; chevron pattern 5/8 x 2-3/4. Punch the end of each with the 1 Square punch as shown in (1j) to make flag ends. Adhere each banner to the top left corner of the Crumb Cake card stock base as shown. (8c) Cut an 11 piece of Old Olive 1/8 Taffeta ribbon and wrap around top of base and secure ends on the left side on the front over the banners using Mini Glue Dots. Cut a 7 piece of Old Olive 1/8 Taffeta ribbon and tie into a bow. Adhere the bow over the ends of ribbon on front using Mini Glue Dots. (8c) Stamp the Christmas ornament stamp shown from the Christmas Collectibles stamp set on Whisper White card stock using Cherry Cobbler ink. Punch out with the Christmas Ornament punch (8d). Stick three small Pearl Basic Jewels on each side of the ornament as shown over the stamped dots. Stick an Old Olive Candy Dot from the Brights Candy Dots in the center of the snowflake on the ornament. (8e) Adhere the ornament to the base over the banners as shown using Stampin Dimensionals. (8e) 8b 8c 8d 8e Step 9 On a 9 square clear plate (available at Walmart or Target), adhere the rough half (hook part) of a sticky Velcro dot to the center of the plate. (9a&b) On the center of the back of each of the inserts, stick the other half (the loop part). Then, you can easily change out your inserts. (9c) Note: I also purchased the easel at Walmart.
