3 Page 3 Pocket Full of Sunshine Card All of the pretty colors inspired this card, like I said I could not decide which color to use first so I tried to use them all. Only color I added was green for the leaves and stems; oh and the doily to make it even more girly!

4 con t from pg3 Butterfly Picture Frame: Using one of the crackled paint frame stickers, I made a frame out of some heavy chip board. I know not very imaginative! I did make imaginative fantasy flowers as some may call them for my focal flower using my onion holder for construction. Then I used the crimper to add the yellow around the outside. Again using the onion holder I made the peach flower and added the mum flower and a tight coil to form the center. A few fringed flowers and a vine with a couple scrolls will top off the design. I used some of the printed butterfly paper to line the inside of the picture frame so it is pretty even when there is no photo! Page 4 Friend CD: I have wanted to try these paper sculpture flowers for a long time now. Check in Claire Choi s book The Art of Paper Quilling or Malinda Johnston s book The Book of Paper Quilling for directions. I used the shiny lilac pearl paper to make them and thought they would look even shinier if I added them to a CD plaque. I added some other flowers to fill in but felt I needed just the right saying for the pearly flowers..i think I nailed it!! What could be better than friends? LOL! ; )

5 Page 5 Fuchsia Gazebo The inspiration for this project came from the jewel tones of the purple quilling strip assortment and the garden them of the kit. I picked up this wrought iron gazebo at the craft store and decided to drape it with fuchsia flowers. It is 13 5 and the top flips back for the candle holder to be put in. The fuchsias were made by rolling a bell shape for the bottom of the flower and then the curled top petals were made with shaped marquis. I added flower stamens but you could easily add quilled ones. Soft yellow pearlescent folded roses and punched leaves were added to my gazebo trellis mixing with the vibrant fuchsias. I used the purple shades of ribbon from the kit to make a bow on the top of the gazebo.

6 Page 6 con t from pg5 August Calendar Page: The lovely colors of the card stock in this months kit inspired me to use the peach color for the summery day lilies. The petals were punched with the lily punch as well as the leaves and makes them super easy to put together in any color or variety you wish. They were colored with yellow and orange chalks and accented with a red brown marker. I used the bright yellow strips from the yellows assortment in the kit for the quilled accent flowers. They were made with two layers of three elongated duck foot shapes with a pearl center. I can t believe that there is only one more month to finish out the year of calendar pages! It has been so much fun making them and since they are perpetual, all I have to do is change the month for the new year. Soap Box: A friend gave me several empty decorative soap boxes thinking that I could do something with them. I said Yes I can!, and this box with it s black, yellow and white color scheme was one that I thought would be difficult to alter. After seeing the perfect color match in the yellows quilling strip assortment I knew I was wrong. The writing on the box was covered with die cut panels of golden yellow and black as a base for the quilling. The quilled motifs were taken from the design on the box with it s flowers and swirls. I cut one of the butterflies out of the designer paper in the kit and perched him on the bow between the flourishes and inside the box. I have cut out several more and will be using them on another project later. I will be keeping my eye out for more of these little easy to alter projects!

7 Page 7 Reviews Sue Wow-- the kit this month is soooo colorful! Included are of shades of yellow and orange quilling strips with lots of cardstock that will coordinate. Also shades of purple strips with more coordinating cardstock, ribbon, a sheet of stickers that has butterflies, butterfly printed paper and the cutest little butterfly buttons. I could not decide which color to use first! Sonya This months kit is again full of creative possibilities and those little butterflies I cut out of the designer paper will grace a card soon. Matching ribbon for bows or accents on the spine of your journals match the pretty card stock and papers.
