Series 500 filtered -subs are drop-in replacements for standard unfiltered -sub connectors. The ability of these connectors to achieve MI filtering within the smaller footprint is the result of technical advances in ceramic capacitors. The Pi is generally considered better due to its superior high frequency performance and steeper curve. The feed-through capacitor is lower cost.
