1 Day: Period: Group Members: Camera Angle Project Due within Four Class Sessions of Receiving the Assignment Goal: Compose, shoot, and edit phases of photos to show an understanding of the different types of camera angles and how they impact communication with the audience. The photos will be shared via a PDF document and should include a text label which correctly identifies each camera angle. Group Procedures: 1. This project requires a great deal of teamwork, sharing, and cooperation. 2. Each group will have access to one camera. 3. The group will need to come up with a plan as to how the work will be shared. All members must shoot, upload, label photos, and edit the Word document. 4. To ensure that everyone is able to fulfill the goal of identifying angles, all members will take or edit photos. The work is to be shared. 5. The Word document may be downloaded from Miss Shoulberg s LCMS website or Canvas. It is not available on the Library s website. 6. Cameras will not be distributed, until the group has a clear plan for sharing the work. 7. It is possible for all group members to edit the Word document. Miss Shoulberg can help members to share files via the network or flashdrives. 8. Expected class time is 3 sessions. 9. Students who would like extra time after school or during lunch may make an appointment with Miss Shoulberg. 10. All students will complete a self-evaluation of the task. 11. Projects will be posted on Canvas and subject to peer evaluations. 12. Have fun, be supportive, and enjoy the art! Good work habits mean that a student doesn t need a teacher to hover or supervise all actions. It s your idea and your art; control it. Bird s Eye (Overhead, rooftop only)

2 Acceptable Images and Behavior: Class members, classroom objects, personal objects (cell phone, keys, coins, lip gloss, etc.). To demonstrate depth, it may be reasonable to shoot in the hallway in the vicinity of the library windows closest to the Up stairs. If any group member leaves the designated area, the member will be dismissed and receive a failing grade. If the weather is acceptable, we may have the opportunity to take the entire class outside to shoot pictures. Do not disturb any classes. All cameras must be used properly with the neck strap around a neck at all times. No exceptions. Never climb on any furniture or other items. It s not safe. After uploading the images onto your profile or flashdrive and the project has been completed, delete the images from the camera. No foolishness. Be polite and reasonable. Keep the fun in the class. Don t be a bonehead. Know your audience. This project is a school project. Some poses and gestures that are appropriate or funny outside of school are unacceptable in school. That s life. Deal with it. Please refer to the LCA Acceptable Use Behavior Policy for any questions regarding expectations related to class conduct or media. Miss Shoulberg will be available before school or during lunch for extra help or additional work time.

3 Make a Plan Group Members: 1. Sketch with a pencil a few ideas and include the camera angle. 2. Once the sketches show a sense of organization and a good plan, the group will receive a camera. 3. Record the name of the photographer in the box. MS TS POV OTS INF SUP Bird s Eye View

4 Production and Editing 1. Upload and name the files. 2. Write a short description and/or file name of each picture your group will include in the Word document 3. Keep track of who will edit each picture. Writing the name of the editor in the box may be handy. 4. Save the Word Document as a PDF in the S:/ drive or the LCA jump drive using this format: Lastname X Angle Project Example: Pitt B Angle Project. Post to Canvas. 5. Failure to save correctly will result in having to start over; help your group members. 6. Once the Word document is merged, it will be shared with the class. Rehearse a presentation.
