1 GAME MAKER PROGRAMMING Topic: Floppy Cats Part 1 Scene Setup, Sprites, Backgrounds Objective: The students will begin designing and coding a new game. This type of game will be a parody of the flappy bird game. The teacher will introduce the concept of the game. The students will go to the Google shared folder and download all the game resources. We will begin creating the game by setting up the scene, adding the backgrounds, adding the character sprites, and animating the main cat character. Upcoming Events: Floppy Cats Part 2 - Adding the Scrolling Pillars Topic: Floppy Cats Part 2 Adding the Scrolling Pillars Objective: The students will create the top and bottom pillar sprites and objects. They will make them move into the screen infinitely. Collision detection will be setup between the cat and the pillars and between the cat and the ground. If that occurs, the game will restart.

2 CHS JAVA PROGRAMMING Topic: JAVA Fundamentals Programming Challenges Charge Account Validation Objective: The students will go to our Google classroom and work on the following program challenge: Charge Account Validation. They will export the Java file and submit it to our online classroom for grading when completed. It is due tomorrow. Assignment: Work on the Charge Account Validation Program Challenge. Topic: JAVA Fundamentals Programming Challenges Charge Account Validation Objective: The students will go to our Google classroom and complete work on the following program challenge: Charge Account Validation. They will export the Java file and submit it to our online classroom for grading. It is due today. Assignment: Submit the Charge Account Validation Program Challenge to our online classroom for grading.

3 MOBILE GAME DESIGN Topic: Pickups for Health, Score, and Double Jumping Objective: The students will start creating some new elements to our app. These include several pickups such as health, score, and double jumping. They will start adding them to level 2 in appropriate locations according to game design techniques. Upcoming Events: Pickups for Health, Score, and Double Jumping Topic: Pickups for Health, Score, and Double Jumping Objective: The students will finish adding all the pickups to our app. They will add them to level 2 in appropriate locations according to game design techniques. Assignment: Submit the Platformer Game Part 3 to our online classroom for grading. This project will be included in their Pitt grade. The project instructions are located in our online classroom. It is called Pitt Web Site Project. The objective of the project is to create a web site from scratch based on a chosen topic. This project allows the students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills of web site building. Topic: Pitt Web Site Project Objective: The students will continue to work on their web site project from Pitt University. This project will be included in their Pitt grade. The project instructions are located in our online classroom. It is called Pitt Web Site Project. The objective of the project is to create a web site from scratch based on a chosen topic. This project allows the students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills of web site building.

5 COMPUTER 7 Topic: Alice Programming Objective: The students will create a short scene based on the movie Finding Nemo with Nemo, a clownfish, Dory, a blue tang, and Bruce, a shark. They will learn: How to pick a template (background) for their Alice world. How to create objects from classes (classifications) in Alice. How to position objects in Alice. How to run a procedure to move an object in Alice while they are setting up the scene. The instructions are located at Upcoming Events: Alice Alien Game Topic: UFO Alien Rescue Game Objective: The students will create a simple game in Alice 3 and learn some basic concepts in computer programming. The goal of the game is to drive around a UFO and pick up the aliens. They will learn how to create Objects and Change Properties, add Conditional Statements, Create and Use Variables, How to Handle Events, and Create Procedures and Add
