1 Search and Rescue Maze Robotics Instructor: Ms. Sicola
2 Research and Gather Information Research and Gather Information Each team member will create a Google slides presentation on a manufactured search and rescue robot, which they find to be inspirational and may help the design development of their team s robot. Your presentation should include the following: (25pts) Explain why you chose to research this robot Present the development and design of this robot What can it do? What are its limitations? What was it designed for? How do you see this robot being used in the future? How do you see your research inspiring the design development of your robot? Show at least 3 pictures and/ or video of the robot you researched (all captioned) Slide show should be between slides Include all research used on a mla formatted works cited page at the end of your presentation Print out your presentation (2-4 slides per pages) and hand in for final grade
3 ENGINEERING NOTEBOOK document your process! document all steps of your design development in your Engineering notebook, which must be shared with me! (100pts) what should be included: Include inspiration photos & research Briefly describe each team member s research (max 1 page for all team members) Take pictures of process Document all steps of your team s process Each team member MUST document their work each class in order to clearly show process, trouble-shooting, development, etc. Show process of your code & final code EACH team member must participate in the development of the code Show development of your mechanical design (gears, wheels, etc.) Show all 3D & 2D drawings (see slide #4) Show Final Robot (see slide #5) Results of all trial runs Results of Final Design Challenges reflection essay (see slide #8) criteria: Engineering notebooks are to be created in Google Drive and shared with me Each team member must have a timestamp for each day and have their name on each slide 1 hard copy (4 slides per page) must be printed and handed in for a final grade Make sure your notebook are professional! (Neatness, organization, spell check, etc.)
4 2d and 3d drawings design 3D development modeling and & documentation drawings drawing DOCUMENTATION (INDIVIDUAL): (25pts) Create 3D model part, WHICH must be a functional PART FOR YOUR ROBOT Show 2D drawings (top view, front view, side view) of 3D MODEL YOUR TEAM DESIGNED, where you will notate SPECIAL FEATURES, LOCATION FOR IT ON ROBOT, AND GENERAL DIMENSIONS You MUST print one designed part by each of partner s for the robot on the 3D printer (individual grade) (5pts pass/fail) MAY PRINT MORE PARTS IF YOUR TEAM DESIRES

How do you feel keeping an engineering notebook has helped you learn to design & develop your robot FOR THIS CHALLENGE? REFLECTIONS to be placed at the end of your engineering notebook
