5 Riverside High School Art Department TOP TEN I, understand that because of the nature of this class, there will be certain expectations I will have to adhere to while enrolled and participating in Art class at Riverside High School. 1. Come on time and prepared for class. You are on time when you have your pencil and sketchbook out, in your seat when the bell rings, and have begun your sketchbook assignment. All others are considered Tardy, consequences will apply. 2. Be respectful in asking and answering questions. Use polite appropriate language when speaking to your teacher and classmates. 3. NO HORSEPLAY in the classroom or out of the classroom, anytime or anywhere. 4. Art Assignments: Originality of Work, Timing and Completion. Students will abide by school plagiarism rules. All artwork you create should be yours and yours alone. When references are used the 90 percent rule shall apply. You will be given sufficient time to work on and finish assignments. If you do not use class time wisely you will not finish assignments. 5. Always ask permission to leave the class. You must use the hall pass. This is a safety precaution in case of an emergency and we need to find you. 6. Respect for all artwork. If it is not yours please do not touch it. Treat your artwork and others with Respect. 7. Use SAFETY and CARE in handling Art Tools. Don t fool with Art Tools. Many Art tools can cause injury if not used properly. Listen carefully and apply safety methods when using art equipment. Art tools must be signed out with your teacher on the sply sheet. 8. Proper computer etiquette is required at all times.
