CAROLINA PROJECT Donna/$45 (2 day class) Tuesday,, Oct. 13 & 20 This class was created for those of you who loved out Storm at Sea quilt which Carol designed for Quilt! Carolina. This beautiful quilt only looks hard! In this class you will learn to construct all of the elements of this quilt. We will discuss combining the elements into blocks and placing the blocks so that the pattern emerges. This 4-part class will cover special lettering effects, digitizing for applique, and manual digitizing. Included in each class will be additional instruction on using the features of Art Canvas. You must have BERNINA Embroidery Software 7, Designer Plus level, to take this class. ALL ABOUT EMBROIDERY Margaret/$20 (1 day class) Saturday,, Oct. 24 WHAT S IN YOUR WALLET? While focusing on some basic troubleshooting guidelines to make your embroidery look its best, we will make this wallet. It folds flat and can hold your credit cards or loyalty cards for easy access. Great for beginners, but fun for anyone to make and this is the perfect project to show off your embroidery designs. APPLIQUE TREE PILLOW Tianna/$20 (1 day class) Thursday,, Oct. 8 This is our favorite thing to do with all our little scraps! This pillow cover is 16 square with an envelope back and the design possibilities are endless! In this class you will learn basic sewing techniques as well as raw edge applique. BEGINNING QUILTING Jacinta/$60 (10 day class) Wednesdays,, Oct. 7-28, Nov. 4-18, Dec This quarter we are working on a new Wilmington Prints project. Staccato is a perfect example of a block quilt which will last through the ages. Grab your supply list and Jacinta will show you the way to mastering this gorgeous quilt.

Come learn how to use the Simplicity Bias Tape Maker with Tianna. She will teach you how to use the machine along with a fun little project! It combines piecing with paper for a truly unique pattern. We have room for newcomers. Please join us for a great time! EASY SCRAPPY QUILTING Susan & Kathleen/$60 (13 day class) Mondays,, Oct. 5-26, Nov. 2-30, Dec Come join Kathleen and Susan to make an easy quilt, beginning to end. Skills such as fabric selection/ color choice, quilting supplies, quilt construction, and how to organize a scrap collection will be discussed. When the final construction of the quilt top begins, you will have the option of using a quilt-as-you-go technique to quilt the top, batting, and back as you sew the quilt together. The conclusion of the class will be back art construction and binding techniques. SHORT TRIP QUILT Terry/$45 (2 day class) Saturdays, 1-5, Oct. 24 & 31 In this class you will be learning the technique stack, slash, shuffle, and sew using a freezer paper pattern to make a crazy quilt. This is fat quarter and scrap fabric friendly. First class will be cutting fabric, the second will be construction of the blocks. This is a fast pace and fun class, so come ready to sew! Construct from scratch a unique accent piece or make a treasured gift. Enjoy a fun-filled sewing and upholstery class designed for beginning and intermediate students who have basic sewing machine skills. Students will create an 18 wide by 10 tall strip-pieced tuffet during this workshop. Please be sure to pre-cut your strips or purchase a jelly roll before class.

BLOOMING 9 PATCH QUILT Penny/$45 (3 day class) Saturday,, Nov. 7 & 14, Dec. 5 A great experience for those who love color and color theory. This quilt is made with simple small squares and a 9 patch. Learn from Penny about precision sewing and the importance of various grains of fabric. COLOR THEORY Alexis/$20 (1 day class) Saturday,, Nov. 7 This color theory class will teach you how to pick the best combination of colors and textures for any project, whether it s a quit, a painting, or the interior design of a room. The lecture is an hour and a half followed by an open sew, during which Alexis will be available for questions about color and texture matching. Fabulous for beginners! Get a refresher course on how to use the rulers and learn to convert traditional cutting instructions found in many patterns to instructions for using these rulers! QUILT AS YOU GO HOLIDAY PLACEMAT AND HOT PAD Karen/$20, (1 day class) Wednesday, 2-5, Nov. 4 Finished placemats are 18 x14 and are created by layering your backing, batting, and strips. SILHOUETTE NEW OWNERS CLASS Donna/$0 (1 day class) Friday,, Nov. 13 This class is intended for all new owners of a Silhouette cameo, and will help you get started with your cutting system. You will be introduced to the tools in the software and cut a design that you create. This class is free to customers who purchased their cameo at Loving Stitches, however there will be a kit fee to cover the materials you will be given in class. STUPENDOUS STITCHING Donna/$45 (1 day class) Monday, 10-4, Nov. 2 You can create a beautiful piece of textile art using the methods described in the book Stupendous Stitching by Carol Ann Waugh. In this all day workshop, you will learn all of the techniques you need to finish your piece. Some students will finish in class, but everyone will leave with a clear understanding of how to complete this project. Your finished piece will measure approximately 18 x22 and can be quilted and bound or used in a variety of other projects. Come and have fun playing with the decorative stiches on your machine! SANTA S STOCKING Jacinta/$20 (1 day class) Saturday,, Nov. 7 In this class, you will learn how to make a fun holiday stocking which will feature a Santa on top. This will be a great addition to your mantle. Plus it is simple enough to make one for each person in your family!
