It s also a handy place to pick up items you may have forgotten to bring with you. Waddington Sewing Center SH 37Lisbon, N.Y., Alice and Joe Pavelski will be at camp with their Janome Sewing machines. Joe will also be cleaning and servicing sewing machines this year. Phoenix Fabric County 1249 CR6, Hammond, N.Y., Susan Cazziol will be teaching Fan Fare. She will be bringing a variety of fabrics and rulers for purchase as well as the pattern. Dye-Lectable Creation Sue and Less Haas with Hand dye Fabrics, also Tin Lizzie Long Arm Quilting Machine. Susan s Stitches 216B Rensselaer St, Rensselaer Falls, N.Y., Susan will be bringing a variety of fabric and patterns for purchase. Hart Country Fabric 123 County RT. 20 Richville, N.Y., Marlene Hart will carry fabric, patterns, rulers etc. Dream Crafter s 1422 Route 37, Hogansburg, N.Y., Dyan Swamp will bring a display of the latest fabric, patterns and techniques, and tips. 2 LOCATION Wadhams Hall is located on SH 37 just south of Ogdensburg, New York, on the St. Lawrence River. The facility offers double rooms for campers which include sheets, blankets, towels & washcloths, a dining hall, spacious classrooms and facilities for vendors. You may wish to bring your own pillow and a quilt. REGISTRATION Return your registration form along with payment as soon as possible to improve your chance of getting the workshop(s) of your choice. All registrations should be returned no later than August 1 to allow for camp preparations. We will consider all guild member requests first postmarked before July 1. Quilt Camp 2015 can accommodate 165 participants. We are hoping everyone will come back and join us and bring a friend. Payment in full is required at the time you send in your registration. The $15 is non-refundable. Any cancellation refunds after Aug. 31 will be at the discretion of the facility. If you have any questions, please contact Renee Holsen at or rholsen@clarkson.edu or Sandra Harris at or Rooms will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. If you have a roommate preference, please note this on your registration form. You may mail more than one registration at one time, but please duplicate the form for each registrant. Registration at Quilt Camp will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 11, so plan your travel time accordingly. Registration on Saturday or Sunday will be available from 8 9 a.m. If you arrive any other time, please locate Renee Holsen or Sandra Harris. SPECIAL EVENTS Mary Knapp s trunk show will be held Saturday night at 7 p.m. at no charge. The trunk show will not interfere with any participants sewing time or shopping with the vendors. Vendors: Please take time before or after the trunk show to shop with our vendors. It s so nice to have all of them in one place at one time. Show and Tell: Campers are invited to share their quilting projects during this popular activity which will take place after lunch on Saturday. You might bring a previous Quilt Camp class project or show your latest creation. Remember we want everyone to get a chance to show their projects so keep it down to one or two projects. Teacup Auction: Everyone enjoys this activity which is much like a silent auction. Campers bring item(s) to donate. These donations will be displayed with a cup beside it. Place your pre-printed ticket(s) into the cup(s) of your choice. Tickets will be available to purchase at 10 for $1.00 or 60 for $5.00. Names will be drawn Saturday after lunch and items will be brought to the winners in their classes. This event helps the guild with some of the overhead expenses that we have. So please clean your sewing room and share those 2 of a kind and over stock goodies with fellow quilters. Bring them in with you to camp or get them to Renee or Sandra before the camp starts. Just a Reminder Be sure your registration form is completed and checks are made payable to Borderline Quilters, Inc. Please enclose a self-addressed envelope with 2 stamps on it, so we may return your class information to you and save a little expense. 2 stamps will work better as we have a lot of information to send you. For your own comfort you may want to bring a fan, a pillow to sit on and/or a small lamp. Bring your chocolate and any of the necessities that will make life sweeter. Be sure your sewing machine is in good working condition. Don t forget the foot control, electrical cord and extra needles.

3 12 HOUR CLASSES Friday, Saturday and Sunday #1 - Adirondack Crazy Patch - From lap to Queen 12 hour class Level: Beginner Teacher: Donna Hastings Pattern will be provided. No special ruler needed. This is a very versatile pattern. It can be made in straight or diagonal settings; with or without sashing. It was created to make a quilt top in a weekend. 4 block samples - 8 blocks Can be set on point or on flat edge. #2 - Sunset - Baby to King size 12 hour class Level: Intermediate Teacher: Debbie Baldwin Pattern can be purchased at Cozyquilt.com for $9. The name of the pattern is Daybreak. Search Daybreak when you get to the site. No special ruler needed. Sunset is a quilt with one block which when joined together creates a secondary block. Two blocks for the price of one. Also, with a little extra effort while piecing, you will have some bonus half square triangles to get started with another project. I ll show you what I did with mine. 16 block #3 - Black Tie Affair - 90 x hour class Level: Beginner/Intermediate Teacher: Sue Cazziol Pattern will be provided. No special ruler needed. This project allows the quilter to feature a large print focus fabric. The blocks are 12.5 and the photo shows 20 blocks on point with 12 setting triangles. The quilt can be made with 32 blocks if not on point. This pattern was featured in the magazine The Quilter. The magazine has gone out of print and I will be providing the pattern at no cost. This quilt doesn t need any special rulers. 4 block samples blocks

4 9 HOUR CLASSES FRIDAY & SATURDAY #4 - Autumn Leaves - 33 x 41 9 hour (Fri. & Sat.) Level: Beginner/Intermediate Pattern will be provided. No special rulers. Teacher: Marcia Tiernan The bargello concept comes from the world of needlepoint. Rather than using thread, one uses fabric to create waves of color and motion. Bargello quilts are relatively easy to create yet they look complex and are beautiful. SATURDAY & SUNDAY #5 - New Wave Lap Quilt - 51 x 55 9 hour (Sat. & Sun.) Level: Intermediate Teacher: Jill Thomas Pattern and template suitable for rotary cutter will provided. This quilt was designed by Elizabeth Hartman of ohfransson.com. It is a great project to show off some of your favorite fabrics. Large wedge sections will be quickly cut from fat quarters using a provided rotary cutting template. When joined with a high contrast sashing, they form a striking modern quilt top. 6 HOUR CLASSES Saturday GUEST TEACHER Book is not necessary for class. Mary will have copies for purchase price of $ #6 - River Trees (Wall Hanging) - 18 x 18 block 6 hour (Saturday) Level: Intermediate - Advanced Teacher: Mary Knapp Book suggested*: Star Quilts by Mary Knapp. Full size templates for 18 blocks included with book. Instructor will provide freezer paper for template material. No special ruler needed. Make an individual Wall Hanging featuring The Peony Block and/or The Forbidden Fruit Block. Use a variety of light batiks and a pigma pen and turn your wall hanging into a family tree or a commemorative piece. Take it a step further and join 12 blocks to create a queen size quilt. This is both a technique and a project class. Patterns supplied for both 18 blocks.

5 6 HOUR CLASSES Saturday #7 - Floating Heart With Heart Chain Border - 32 x 35 wall hanging or 104 x 88 queen Saturday Level: Beginner Teacher: Vicky Williams Pattern will be provided. No special rulers needed. This quilt is made on point and put together in strips. The sewing is easy and when the strips start going together your floating heart appears. I used a white background for this floating heart and vibrant floral prints for the heart. The green heart chain frames the floating heart nicely. When choosing a background you need a quiet or simple print that will showcase your floating heart. wall hanging 2 blocks - queen size 6 & 3 blocks #8 - How Does Your Garden Grow? - 50 x 70 Saturday Level: Intermediate Teacher: Marlene Hart Purchase pattern before at Hart Country Fabrics ( ) or at class. No special ruler needed. 4 block samples - 8 blocks This quilt is another take on the popular braid quilts. It s made in sections, squared up, sashing is added then it s framed in a medium toned border. It s a great use for that bundle of floral fat quarters you already have in your stash or a good excuse to get some. (Like we need an excuse to go fabric shopping!) For a completely different look, try brights or batiks with black sashing. 3 HOUR CLASSES #9 - Covered Dish Dinner Bag - 14 x 14 x 4 Friday Level: Intermediate Teacher: Marlene Hart Pattern must be purchased before at Hart Country Fabrics ( ) or at class. Kits available on request for $25. No special ruler needed. Quilting experience not needed! This tote made from pre-quilted material has inside pockets for plates or napkins, slots for silverware and four compartments for cups or glasses. It s a great way to take your place settings to church pot lucks or quilt guild covered dish dinners. You can keep your camping dishes in it so you re ready to go at a moments notice for camping or picnics. It s 14 tall, 14 wide and 4 deep.

6 3 HOUR CLASSES (CONTINUED) #10 - Pumpkin Wool Applique Table Mat 11 diameter Friday Level: Beginner Teacher: Phylllis Acres Kits will be available for purchase and required for class $7 each from Phyllis. Quilters will complete a scalloped edge table topper (11 round) with a fall motif. This project will teach the basics of wool applique. The techniques will allow quilters to complete any wool applique project. Additional wool applique pieces will be displayed for inspiration. #11 - Sewing Caddy Sunday Level: All Levels Teacher: Vicky Williams Pattern can be purchased for $5 from Craftsy.com under patterns. It is downloadable from the website. The pattern name at Craftsy.com is Tooly Tool Holder Easel. No special rulers needed. This little portable sewing caddy keeps my sewing tools close at hand. The sewing caddy goes together easily and is big enough to hold most everything except your large rulers and mat, yet is small enough to tuck into your basket or tote. Tooly holds a 6 1/2 square ruler, a rotary cutter, pins, needles, seam ripper, pencil(s), and more! You can customize the pocket sizes if you like. This is easy sewing and a fun way to use us some of your scraps. #12 - Patriotic Hearts and Stars - 26 x 26 or 38 x 38 Sunday Level: Beginner Teacher: Marlene Hart Pattern must be purchased before or at class. It is available at Hart Country Fabrics for $6. No special ruler needed. This patriotic heart/star wall hanging can be made with or without a border. Without the border the quilt is 26 square. With the border the quilt measures 38 square. Using the stitch and flip method for the corners, nothing is wasted since the corners that are cut off become the pinwheels in the corners. 3 block sizes: 17, 4, 3 Experience Levels Beginner Little to no experience with quilting and needs help with the sewing machine. Intermediate Comfortable with the sewing machine and has made other quilts. Advanced Lots of quilting/sewing experience. For example, has done triangles.
