Sounds like several of you are getting ready to start saving your scraps using the technique she showed. Thanks also to all your show and tell. It wouldn t be a meeting without it. And a big shout out to Kay Butler for managing both the minutes and all the pictures for this issue of the newsletter. (Note at the far right of the picture how many quilts Anne brought for her trunk show.) Falls Quilt Guild October 2017 Volume 32, Issue 10 Adopt a Bear Peg Broesder show several of the bear quilts she brought to the Sep meeting. Komforters for Kids Martha Wood Here are figures for KFK quilts delivered 14 Sep Jan Fisher of Child Protective Services asked me to tell Guild members thank you for the quilts. The greatly appreciated. Quilts delivered on 14 Sep Total for quilt year Total since ,763 Ladies, thank you for supporting the Komforters for Kids project of our Quilt Guild. I will be scheduling a "Make KFK kits" session soon. Will need several ladies to come to my house to select fabric for tops and backs. I will add batting when the kits are brought to a Guild meeting. Quilts are 45 x 54 and batting will be 48 x 54. So keep those dimensions in mind. ( s & phone #s last page) (Komforters for Kids (KFK) is a project to stock crib or child (lap) size quilts to organizations who deal with children in crisis. The organizations are: Mercy Home, Great Falls, Sun Prairie, Manchester and Vaughn Fire Departments, Cascade County Sheriff s Department, Great Falls Police Department, American Red Cross, City County Health Department and the Montana Highway Patrol. )

Block Exchange 2017 Bowtie The 2017 Block exchange block is the 6 finished (6½ unfinished) bowtie. Remember you can join in or drop out whenever you want. 6 Page 6 Falls Quilt Guild Falls Quilt Guild, Inc General Meeting Minutes Tuesday, September 12, 2017, Senior Citizens Center October 2017 Volume 32, Issue 10 Call to Order: The monthly meeting of the FQG was called to order by President Deana Wilson at 7pm. Minutes: The minutes of the meeting were posted on the Bulletin Board in the newsletter. Financial Reports: Reports are posted on the Bulletin Board. Treasurer Annie Neiffer is available to answer any questions and clarify information. Announcements: Susan Hedahl presented information about a quilting retreat. Hospice Sew Day - October Contact Susan Volf for information. Committee Reports: KFK Martha Woods: 52 quilts will be delivered this week as the last delivery of the year. A kit making gathering will be organized later this year. Martha thanked the members for the many donated quilts. Quilt Show Diana Simkins: Contact Diana for photos submitted for the show if you desire them returned. UFO/Block exchange Diana Simkins: These projects continue. The UFO fat quarter drawings take place at the December meeting. Members expressed interest in a mystery quilt. Old Business: Sew Day: Members are encouraged to attend. September 16 at Senior Center from 9-4 New Business: Mercy Home Donations: Dody Sproles will collect personal care items at next three meetings and deliver to the Mercy Home. Program: Anne Wiens presented a trunk show featuring quilts from The Thrifty Quilter It s your quilt and you can do what you want. Anne invited everyone to the Birthday Party held in Shelby this year on October 7 th. The speakers will be from the Lethbridge Quilt Guild featuring Modern Quilting. Door Prizes: Susan Volf, Cindy Skelton, Linda Gimenez, Diana Warner Birthday Gifts: 5 Show and Tell: A wide variety was shown including 2 hospice quilts.
