A Notice about the Christmas Sale: Sale Dates: Friday Nov 24 (Preview) Saturday Nov 25 (Sale) at St Pat's High School as usual. Hope you're getting your donations ready (or the $30 in lieu of an item)! Donations should be handed in at the Quilted Raven by Nov 17. A sign-up sheet for volunteers for the sale will be available at the November Guild meeting. If you can't make the meeting, Minnie directly at joldersm@ucalgary.ca. Volunteers are needed for "goodies," set-up and take-down, and "minding." As always, members can also sell their own items, subject to a 25-item limit and a 15% commission that goes to supporting the Quilt Guild. Inventory sheets will be available at the meeting or you can ask Minnie to send you an electronic copy. It s going to be fun, as always! - I ve lived in Yellowknife since I enjoy gardening, golfing (if I can ever find the time) and reading. - I ve been quilting for approximately 17 years - My mother is a quilter and gave me my first lesson in quilting - I couldn t find an ironing board that I liked, so I built my own pressing station just for quilting - I can often be found wearing my favourite colour which is...turquoise Who is it? SOCIAL SEWING NIGHT Our next evening sew will be Nov 16, 6:30-9:30 at The Quilted Raven. It s a chance to sew, cut, arrange, check out the library, or just visit. We have lots of fun! We want your opinion! The last survey the Guild conducted was in It time to have your say! Each month we will ask you your opinion on a specific topic. The questions will be in the newsletter. The mini survey will be distributed at the guild meeting for you to submit your comments and ideas. At that meeting the Guest will receive a membership pamphlet containing information on how to join the Guild and information letting them know that in the future there will be a $5.00 drop in fee, unless they become a member. If the Guest returns, even if it is the next year, they are welcome to come to the meeting but must pay the $5.00 drop in fee. The Guest will be entered for door prizes but are not eligible to enter the other draws. A Special Thank You She s volunteered on the Guild Executive for many years and we often rely on her as our historian she manages the Guild s library searching for the perfect books that the membership might like reading them and writing a review for the Newsletter that she skillfully puts together and we can t wait to read each month. Shelved under P Rating: WALK, by Jacquie Gering, Lucky Spool Media. Now. I am at a serious (machine) disadvantage with this book. The subtitle is Master Machine Quilting with Your Walking Foot.

Orange has always been a little insecure about being neither red nor yellow, so naturally she overcompensates. I love reading Tula Pink. And the designs are stunning. I really enjoyed with book. Shelved under P Rating: WALK, by Jacquie Gering, Lucky Spool Media. Now. I am at a serious (machine) disadvantage with this book. The subtitle is Master Machine Quilting with Your Walking Foot. If I were inclined to do that, this would be an excellent book to use. It starts with the very basics and takes the process slowly. Step by step until you are doing curves and making wonderful quilts. Shelved under G Rating: Please visit our library. Check out a book or take home a magazine.
