Mr M.Kannan joined the VME Group in 1998 and is an active member of the board who handles the administration and operations of the company with admirable ease. Mr M.Karthik has been a member of the board since 1998 and has vast experience in executing various bridge projects undertaken by the VME group.

3 VME THROUGH THE YEARS 1986 VME Group was founded. One of the pioneers in mechanization of earthwork using excavators and other sophisticated equipment Ventured into building bridges for the Tamil Nadu State Highways based on Precast Technology. Won an accolade from World Bank team for quality and also speedy execution for the very first bridge A bow string girder bridge at Katpadi for Southern Railways which won a National Award by the Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers. This bridge was completed in 1998 where the entire span of 42 meters weighing 750 tons was cast separately and placed in position. Setup its own Ready mix concrete unit Set up India s First Completely Automated Precast Factory along with global associates VaBe and Elematic of Finland. Diversified into Real Estate domain with VME Realty. Launched it First Project Lakeside in August The entire construction will be done using Precast Technology.

5 TESTIMONIES THAT HAVE STOOD THE TEST OF TIME Ekkaduthangal Bridge across Adyar River, Chennai. 84 Precast prestressed beams were cast and placed in just 3 months in the year Moorad Bridge Railway Bridge in the back waters of Kerala. Special Sacrificial caisson were used for well foundation and each well weighing 300 Mt were placed in position after casting for the first time in Southern Railway.

6 TESTIMONIES THAT HAVE STOOD THE TEST OF TIME Palar River Project for Southern Railways. This marvel in engineering was completed in 1998 in the short span of just 9 months using a Special launching girder. This rail bridge has 36 prestressed concrete box girders that are 20m long and its total length is 720 meters across the Palar River. Palakkarai Road Over- Bridge, Trichy for Tamil Nadu State Highways. Built in a congested area, this bridge has a total length of one km.the bridge has 10 spans of concrete box girder and reinforced earth retaining wall for approaches.

9 VME PRECAST FACILITY VME Precast uses cutting edge technology to create precast concrete elements which includes Hollow Core Slabs for floor and roof slabs. 10 HOLLOW CORE SLABS Longer spans and greater strengths of hollow core slabs is specially advantageous for long span buildings where unobstructed space is required. Grade of concrete used is M 60 HCS weigh 40 to 50 % less than conventional RCC slabs of the same dimensions. HCS are manufactured in 160, 200, 265mm thick as standard products. Annual Production capacity 1,80,000

12 HOLLOW CORE SLABS - LOAD TEST 2.5 Mt 2.5 Mt 265 mm thick Hollow Core Slab of 8m length is being tested by placing two blocks weighing 2.5Mt each. The slab was designed for 500kg/Sqm but the loading was 5 times more than the design load acting like a point load and the slab did not fail.

13 ADVANTAGES OF HOLLOW CORE SLABS Longer span and greater loads than conventional slabs of same depth. Longer span, meaning less beams and columns required which gives more unobstructed space and saving for the client. Gives better heat insulation and also can be used for insulation by filling cool ambient air in the holes of HCS which reduces airconditioning requirement of a building by 30%. Does not require any scaffolding at site and erection can be done in all weather condition. Better fire resistance and many more..

16 ADVANTAGES OF WALL PANELS Wall panels (EXTERNAL, INTERNAL, SANDWICH WALL PANELS) can be customized to clients specification to achieve best building design. Energy Saving - Sandwich Panels with insulation, the air-conditioning requirement of a building can be brought down by 30%. Panels with façades to enhance the aesthetics can be done. All Electrical Conduits can be done inbuilt in the factory. Windows can be prefixed on the panels. Does not require plastering and very less putty is required.

BEAM - Our standard cross sections include IB-beams, RB-beams, LB-beams, ITB-beams and special flat beams FB-beams. In all types it is possible to provide exposed reinforcement for composite structure. COLUMN - VME produces standard rectangular RCC columns. Annual Production capacity - 18,000 Rm of columns and beams can be produced.

20 ADVANTAGES OF PRECAST Quality Control In VME, the Precast Elements are produced in a controlled environment in a state-of-the-art plant. Hence the highest levels of quality control can be maintained as opposed to on-site pouring of concrete Strength Precast elements casted in the factory are of higher grade concrete mix proportions as compared to the conventional way of on-site construction. Weather Dependency Precast concrete elements are cured in the plant itself which cuts down the time required for curing and at the same time ensures proper effective curing. Dependency on the weather is also avoided as changes in the weather will not delay production or affect the erection schedule. Weather Resistance Unlike other precast materials that can rust, rot or degrade in the presence of moisture, precast concrete actually gets stronger if the un-hydrated cement particles in it react with water, thus making it completely water-resistant. Durability Using precast concrete elements improves construction quality and thus extends the life cycle of buildings. Corrosion & Fire Resistance Precast concrete is designed to withstand the most common corrosive agents. Most precast materials other than concrete and steel are flammable or do not perform well in high temperatures. In fact, even steel looses its structural capacity quickly which can lead a building to collapse. Precast concrete is one of the few non-combustible building materials which does not loose its structural capacity nearly as quickly as steel, and performs very well even in

21 ADVANTAGES OF PRECAST Insulation Precast Sandwich panels have an insulated membrane between two concrete layers which reduces huge heat transmission thus saving energy to a large extent. Water Tightness When precast concrete products are produced in a quality-controlled environment and used with high-quality sealants, it makes the finished product completely water-proof. Efficiency Precast technology saves up to 50% of construction time. Environment friendly Precast technology contributes to best green building practice in a number of ways.
