Developing your personal style Lesson: Introduction to Project I, The Gallery (bubble diagram techniques, sketching techniques, plan development techniques, foam core construction basics) Homework 1: Purchase all drawing supplies (see materials list) Draw 40 x 40 square grid, with intervals on 24 x 36 velum (4 or 5 ) Draw 5 bubble diagrams, freehand overlaying the grid, and describing: Entry, Circulation, Gathering Space, and Special Exhibition Space Refine one schematic floor plan on sketch (tracing) paper at 1/4" = 1-0

Sept. 27 INTRODUCTION TO SCHEMATIC PLAN DESIGN & LAYOUT Critique: Grid on vellum, Bubble Diagrams, Schematic Floor Plan, Study Model (basic line weights, floor plans layout, circulation, form and function, scale vs. proportion, structure, rhythm, repetition, space, form, order ) Lesson: Developing the Plan (refining the concept, understanding basic construction elements, layout methods, line weight techniques, value, tone, texture, materials) Homework 2: 1. Layout 24 x 36 vellum sheet 2. Develop 1/4 schematic floor plan and redraw on velum 3. Develop Study Model (walls, doors, platforms etc ) 3.
