2 ECC: ARCH 121 :Three-Dimensional Architectural Computer Aided Design SLO #2 3D Modeled Office Building - Using Revit software, students will create a detailed 3D computer model of a 3-story office building complete with floor plans, RCPs, building sections, interior and exterior elevations, details, and schedules as well as photo realistic renderings. Students will use Building Information Modeling (BIM) in design, analysis and documentation of their buildings. Course SLO Assessment Cycle: (Fall Project - Lecture and Laboratory instruction for use of AutoCAD to create computer generated drawings for Construction Documents. Students have successfully built a model of the house that represents the class project. The model is based on computer generated drawings. The student also learns engineering concepts of vertical and lateral design while building the model. A success rate of a B or C grade was expected and achieved by 90%-95% of the students, and an A grade was achieved by 15%. The results showed the continuing technical development of the beginning architectural student. 5 ECC: ARCH 158:Structures Analysis-Timber SLO #1 Beams and Lateral Bracing - Given lecture information, handouts and in-class discussion, students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of the function of structural components in residential buildings. Students will be able to calculate the size of beams, columns and lateral bracing systems of light framed wood structures. Course SLO Assessment Cycle: (Fall 2014), (Fall 2016), (Fall Exam/Test/Quiz - Students are given a 25 question multiple-choice exam. Based on results of the exam, it is expected that 85% of the students will score 75% or above. Students need to improve math skills in order to have greater success in this engineering information class. The students have met the expected performance standard. (03/15/2019) SLO #2 Graphic Techniques - Successful students, completing the Architecture Program, following instructions, supervised classroom practice using CADD system; will use proper graphic techniques to complete instructions. Course SLO Assessment Cycle: (Fall Laboratory Project/Report - Students will use the Cadd software to create Beam Sizing Charts based on data they got when they did calculations. We expect 100% of the students to be able to do this process to print out charts for Beam sizing. The charts will facilitate architects and engineers in sizing beams for building loads. The Data the students downloaded into the AutoCAD software was checked off by the instructor after they accomplished that. The structural calculations were checked by the instructor as well. 6 ECC: ARCH 171:Architectural Three-Dimensional Illustration SLO #2 Graphic Techniques - Successful students, completing the Architecture Program, following instructions, supervised classroom practice using CADD system; will use proper graphic techniques to complete instructions. Course SLO Assessment Cycle: (Fall Presentation/Skill Demonstration - Students will draw, manually on paper and on a Computer Aided Design software three dimensional drawings and then delineate them with tones and textures to provide enough contrast to be able to see the design. Students who draw three dimensional drawings and delineate it with tones and have entourage (people, cars, etc.) incorporated in the drawings will receive a grade of 4; Students who draw the three dimensional drawings add tones but do not have entourage will receive a grade of 3; Students who draw the three dimensional drawings but add no tones or entourage will receive a grade of 2; Students who draw three dimensional drawings and only get part of the drawing complete with no entourage, tones or titles will receive a grade of 1. 80% of the class will get 3s and 4s. Of the 16 students enrolled in the class, over half, (9 students) received an A grade and scored 4 on all drawings. 4 students received a grade of B and scored 3 and 3 students received a grade of C and scored 2 on their assignments.
