Sandpaper - t smth any rugh edges and make parts slide easier. Wax/parrafin als t make parts slide better.

2 General Ntes: All writing n parts is riented the same way n each side unless therwise nted. This puzzle is assembled with the writing n the plywd pieces facing ut. When the uter layer pieces are glued n the writing n thse pieces faces inwards. The alignment pegs are f different lengths depending upn the number f layers that are being placed tgether. Be careful t use the crrect length. The pegs are easier t push thrugh the hles if yu start them n the side f the piece that has writing. Check the fit befre gluing and sand/file any pieces that d nt slide smthly I find that light sanding f the faces f sliding pieces makes fr better bxes. I als use paraffin/candle wax n the surfaces t get smthly mving pieces. I use Aleene s tacky glue fr gluing parts. I glue the pieces and then hld them tgether fr ~15 secnds and they will stay in place until the glue dries. Be careful when attaching uter sides, spacers and cvers t keep glue away frm areas where it might squeeze ut underneath and get n any f the sliding parts. If pssible glue thse parts withut the sliding pieces in place s yu can clean up any glue squeeze ut. Clean up glue squeeze ut while the glue is still sft as it is much harder after it dries. When sanding flat sides it is better t place the sheet f sandpaper n a flat surface and mve the puzzle piece ver the sandpaper. This keeps the face flat and prevents runding ver the edges. If tabs seem t fat t fit in slts then sand them with a cuple f passes f 100 grit sandpaper n each side f the tabbed piece. If tabbed pieces d nt seat fully in the pcket areas, then sand the ends f the tabs.

3 Add Rails t Frnt and Back Panels Glue frnt bttm rail t the frnt panel. The writing n the rail piece shuld be facing the tp edge f the panel. Glue a tp rail t the frnt panel als with the writing facing the same directin. D the same fr the back panel. Assemble Bx Glue the left and right upper inner ends t the frnt and back panels with the writing n the ends facing utwards. This can be a little tricky t hld, but yu can use the base panel t help align the fur pieces and make sure they are square. The tabs n the bttm edge f the frnt and back pieces shuld fit int the cut ut areas f the base panel Make sure t remve any glue squeeze ut befre it dries. After the glue has dried glue the lwer inner ends fr bth the left and right sides. After the glue has dries test fit the false bttm panel and the inner lid panel. Sand r file these pieces t make sure they slide smthly. Finish sand the base, frnt and back sides nw since it is easier befre the base is glue nt the bx. Glue the base piece t the bx assembly.

4 Assemble Inner End Panels Lightly sand the backs side f the left and right hlder panels and the frnt side f the tw packing pieces with 180/220 grit sandpaper. This make the pieces slide smther and is easier t d nw befre the pieces are assembled. Using the red (.400 ) pegs glue the left and right packing pieces t the left and right hlder panels. The writing n these pieces shuld face utwards and the pegs shuld be flush with the backside f the hlder panels and prtrude frm the packing pieces. Next, glue the left end and right end spacers t the packing pieces. Finish/Decrate Bx and EndPanels If yu are ging t apply finish t the puzzle that shuld be dne nw. Finish sand the frnt and back f the left and right end uter panels with 180/220 sandpaper if yu are just ging t be applying a clear finish t the bx. If yu are ging t use the designs frm Bruce s plans then they can be added t the uter end panels, tp panel and the frnt and back panels f the bx. If yu add paper/cardbard decratins, make sure yu add the same thickness material t the face f the spacer pieces. End Panel Final Assembley Test fit the end panels by putting the uter end panel nt the inner end panel assembly and hlding the uter tile in place withut any glue. Check t make sure the lcking piece mves crrectly and when it des glue the uter tile in place. After the glue has dried make sure the panels still perate crrectly.

5 Add End Panel t Bx Make sure that the surface where the end panels will be glued is free f any finish and lightly sand if necessary. Glue the left and right end panels t the bx with the surface f the end panel flush t the ends f the frnt and back panels. Assemble False Bttm ***The remainder f the plans/assemby instructins included with kit/plans

6 After making sure the sliders perate crrectly glue the lid uter panel t this assembly. The lid uter tiles can then be glued t the crrespnding lid spacer piece. The bx is cmplete except fr any additinal decratins that yu wuld like t add.
