15 Educational Mission Our educational mission is to share and use science fiction as a tool to inspire imagination and motivate project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Youth-focused Programming Blending STEAM education with science fiction is central to the Museum s mission. Currently, there really aren t any large-scale, community events that intentionally deliver informal learning inspired by science fiction. 16 Attendee Feedback Greg Bear Autograph Signing This was wonderful. I have long admired Mr. Bear's work. Last year I brought my copy of Queen of Angels to Escape Velocity on the off-chance of meeting him and getting his autograph. This year I was delighted to see that an autograph session with him was actually on the schedule. Meeting him was one of the highlights of the con for me. He is a gracious and generous person and I admire him greatly. Greg Nicotero on The Walking Dead and 2001: A Space Odyssey Cool to hear his views on the process of making How Science Fiction Inspired Exploration Achievements I found this a very exciting presentation. Peter McGrath did a great job describing Boeing's contributions to space exploration and their efforts to inspire the next generation of space scientists. Doctor Whose Line Is it Anyway?! Hysterical! Touch the Sun Great selection of NASA panelists. Audience was really into the subject. In Saturn's Rings, a film for IMA theaters: The Kubrick, Science & Tech I was nearly moved to tears by the Saturn portion of the film they showed. Awesome, in the literal sense of the word. Appreciated, too, the insights into how they made the film.

This was one of the best at Escape Velocity Why Are They Spiritual Machines? AI and Religion An astonishingly brilliant array of points of view. Splendid discussion of among the panelists and great audience participation. Law of Star Wars This was, hands down, the best panel I've attended so farit was lively, the audience was laughing and engaged, and the topic was really interesting and surprisingly cutting edge. Definitely have these folks back again! The Hunt for Groot: Astrobiology at NASA Fascinating! Great Q&A, really knowledgeable panelists. Cosmic Encounter: Quick Start / Alien Combos / Play Designers The Cosmic Encounter folks were really friendly and made the game really accessible. I hope we see them again! Will Asteroid Mining Solve our Resource Shortages? This presenter is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. And the presentation perfectly matched the description, so I got exactly what I thought I would get.
