New materials that will protect our planet s resources. Skills and careers that will launch us into the future. CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 is advancing to a new level of thought leadership and presenting attendees with an exciting vision of the future of construction. In 2017, the show will offer a new, immersive technology pavilion where attendees can actually step into the future and experience what s next. This will educate our industry, boosting technology awareness and adoption ultimately increasing sell-through of new equipment and products that can help create safer operations and increased efficiencies and profits. Located in Silver Lot 3, outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, the new Tech Experience will showcase the ultimate view of where the industry is going. In order to bring this vision to life, we re calling on our exhibitors to submit a proposal to be part of The Tech Experience with their biggest, bravest technology, and boldest thinking and ideas. Proposals will be evaluated against a simple set of criteria by an outside panel of experts.

3 3 CONCEPTUAL RENDERING THE TECH EXPERIENCE The Tech Experience is 75,000 square feet of space that will be transformed into an immersive, futuristic experience comprised of three key zones: The Worksite of the Future The Jobs of the Future The Infrastructure of the Future It will be amplified with additional engagement zones such as a Tech Talks auditorium for inspiring TED Talk style sessions, a Maker Beta Lab that will feature a collaborative future factory environment and the world s first fully functional 3D-printed excavator.

6 6 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS & CRITERIA To be considered for The Tech Experience, you must submit a proposal to our outside panel of experts as outlined below. Description Objective Technology Vignette Opportunity This is the foundation of The Tech Experience. Showcase emerging and innovative technology in a physical or digital experience. Bring to life the possibilities that exist today and tomorrow. Tech Talks Opportunity This is a TED Talk style presentation of educational, thought-provoking content around technology and the future of the industry. Bring to life the possibilities that exist today and tomorrow. To qualify for either opportunity you must currently be exhibiting at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

7 7 Entry Categories Whether you choose to submit a Technology and/or a Tech Talks proposal, you must choose to submit your proposal within one of the categories below. While proposals may fit into multiple categories, it is up to you to choose the category for which you believe your ideas, technology and/or thinking have the best chance of being selected. You may submit mulitiple entries for any category, however, participation within The Tech Experience is limited to one entry per category per company. Categories Including, but not exclusive to Tech Talks TED Talk style presentations held throughout the 5-day event. New ideas and big thinking concepts Technology Vignettes The Worksite of the Future: A fully integrated construction site of the future will showcase how we build our future infrastructure, with capability for improved safety, performance and effectiveness. The Jobs of the Future: Facilitating continuous training, learning and development will support and prepare the workforce for the evolving skillset of the future and potential new professions. Future Maker Space: A maker space and beta lab allows subject matter experts and attendees to collaborate while getting hands-on and taking a look at a future still in progress. The Infrastructure of the Future: Portraying a vision for safer, more efficient and integrated infrastructure with new developments in material science, energy production, data collection, climate adaptation and more. 8 8 Technology Proposal Requirements If you re submitting a Technology proposal, your proposal must consist of the following components: 1. Bring to life your technology in some way, such as through a video or images. 2. Outline your technology and its use. 3. Describe your technology s potential impact on the future of the industry. 4. Describe the immediate impact of your technology on business today. 5. Provide ideas for how you d recommend engaging CONEXPO-CON/AGG attendees around your technology in an interactive way. How would you educate and entertain attendees on your technology, encouraging hands-on engagement? Have fun with it! Tech Talks Proposal Requirements If you re submitting a Tech Talks proposal, your proposal must consist of the following components: 1. Submit a one-page prospectus that describes: a. Your recommended topic and a high-level overview of the content b. Learning objectives c. Recommended title d. Description of how your topic supports the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 theme, Imagine What s Next 2. Describe how you imagine your content being delivered. It could be, but isn t limited to, a TED Talk style video, an education session or a whitepaper. 3. If your delivery method involves a speaker, please include a compelling bio of the speaker and an example of the speaker s presentation skills such as a speaking reel.

9 9 Evaluation Criteria A panel of judges will review all the proposals against a set of simple criteria, outlined below. Technology Criteria Influence Does it unlock new possibilities for business or the industry? Pragmatism Does it feel actionable and achievable? Cool Factor Does it feel inspiring and cool, making people think, Wow? Edutainment Do you have a compelling idea for a hands-on attendee engagement? Novelty Does your technology have a uniqueness factor? Tech Talks Criteria Innovativeness Does it have a futuristic edge? Allure Does the topic and delivery method have a compelling pull to it? Thought Provoking Does it feel inspiring and provoke new thinking? Action-ability Is it a topic that can be addressed today? Have a call to action? Novelty Does your topic or speaker have a uniqueness factor? Note that all proposals should focus on big, forward-thinking ideas that benefit the industry and should not merely be a commercial for your company.

10 10 Pricing The costs of the Technology Vignette and Tech Talks opportunities for exhibiting nonmembers are outlined below. Exhibiting AEM members will have participation fees waived. Technology Vignette Opportunity This is the foundation of The Tech Experience. Showcase emerging and innovative technology in a physical or digital experience that brings to life the possibilities that exist today and tomorrow. Exhibitors should plan to accommodate 1-2 people at a time. Option A Cost: $10,000* Vignette space cost includes: 25-square-foot vignette Logo placement Opportunity to bring one [1] subject-matter expert to staff vignette Working session to review and discuss submission, overall content strategy and integration of content into the overall experience Option B Cost: $15,000* Vignette space cost includes: 100-square-foot vignette Logo placement Opportunity to bring one [1] subject-matter expert to staff vignette Working session to review and discuss submission, overall content strategy and integration of content into the overall experience Not included in vignette space cost: Vignette furnishings or necessary technology (rental or custom options are available) Lead retrieval (must be purchased separately) Content development, design, copywriting or production assistance (detailed specifications will be provided for final content delivery) * Participation fees are waived for all AEM Memebers Tech Talks include: Tech Talks Opportunity This is a TED Talk style presentation of educational, inspirational and thoughtprovoking content around technology and the future of the industry. Cost: $10,000* One (1) dedicated time slot within the Tech Talks auditorium targeted at up to a half hour (pending final content delivery method) Ability to use exhibitor branding and template Working session to review and discuss submission, overall content strategy and integration of content into the overall experience Not included in Tech Talks cost: Content development, copywriting, presentation design (detailed specifications will be provided for final content delivery) The Tech Experience team will have final sign-off and reserves the right to request content changes as needed to deliver a holistic experience. * Participation fees are waived for all AEM Memebers
