Finish all seams with a serge r zigzag stitch. DRESS CONSTRUCTON (Sleeve Elastic 5) (DRESS HEM 234). WRST sew the yke frnt t the yke backs at the shulders. Fllw the same prcedure fr the lining. 2. WRST sew the yke and yke lining tgether at the neck. Trim seam t Sturn & press.see Diag. a. 3. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches acrss the skirt tp. 4. Slit the armhle darts n the skirt. See Dress Skirt Guide. S. Pull up the gathering threads t fit the bdice. Pin and sew the yke t the skirt leaving the yke lining free. Turn under yke lining 4 and hand stitch t the yke skirt seam. 6. Turn under bttm edge f sleeve ls and stitch. Then turn under sleeve facing n the indicated fld line and press. See sleeve pattern. 7. Measure ff S twice n S elastic and mark with a pencil. DO NOT CUT ELASTC. S. Place elastic n the sleeve and zigzag elastic in place. See pattern fr placement. Pull up t the first S mark and cut. Pin the elastic end in the seam allwance. Stitch the elastic n the secnd sleeve in the same manner. 9. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches acrss each sleeve cap. See pattern fr placement. O. Pull up gathering threads t fit the armhle. Pin and sew sleeves in place.. WRST sew the sleeve seam and the skirt dart. 2. Sew center back skirt seam leaving the tp 3 pen. 3. Turn under hem 234 and hand stitch in place. Finished back length f dress shuld be 02 at center back frm neck t bttm f dress hem. PNAFORE CONSTRUCTON S. After cutting the skirt lace fld the lace in half. Measure ver 9 frm the center fld and mark with a pin. Center the pinafre armhle guide at the 9 mark cut ut the armhles. WRST sew the armhle facings t the skirt armhles. Trim seams t ls & turn. Turn under edge f facings; hand stitch in place. Press. 6. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches acrss the skirt tp. 7. WRST sew the frnt shulder straps t the yke frnt at A and B. Zigzag a satin stitch clse t the seam line. Trim away excess seam allwance r trim seams t ls and serge t finish. S. WRST sew the back shulder straps t each yke back at C. Trim and finish seams as mentined abve. Then sew the frnt and backs tgether at the shulder seams. Trim and finish seams. 9. Pull up gathers n skirt t fit the frnt and back ykes. Pin and sew. Finish seams. 20. Fld under ends f back ykes at the center back and hand tack in place. See pattern. PAGE OF 5

Zigzag elastic n each leg. See pattern fr placement. 27. WRST sew the crtchinseam catching the elastic ends in the seams. 28. Turn under the waist casing and stitch leaving a small pening fr inserting the elastic. nsert elastic lap ends and sew. Clse the casing with a machine stitch. Then sew 7 lace beading and ribbn t yke frnt allwing the lwer edge f the beading t just cver the yke and skirt seam. SEE FLER. 4. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches at the tp and bttm f each sleeve. Pull up gathers n the lwer sleeve edge t fit the arm bias binding. Sew the bias binding t the sleeve. Repeat fr secnd sleeve. 5. Fllw Baby Shay Steps 9 thru. Turn under the sleeve bias 4 and whipstitch t the sleevebias binding seam. 6. Fllw Baby Shay Steps 2 thru 3. Then gather 2 yards f 2 lace and baste t the skirt hem 4 abve the hem edge.
