1 1 CHABOT- LAS POSITAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT Facilities Planning & Management Department August 11, 2010 Addendum No. 2 INVITATION FOR BID NO.: Industrial Technology Center, Buildings 1400/1600 Renovation - Chabot College All Prospective Bidders: This addendum is issued to clarify, add, delete, correct and/or change the contract documents to the extent indicated and is hereby made a part of the above noted contract documents on which the contract will be based. Any modifications/changes made by this addendum affect only the portions or paragraphs specifically identified herein; all remaining portions of the proposal to remain in force. It is the responsibility of all bidders to conform to this Acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the space provided on the bid form. Failure to do so will be subject Bidder to disqualification as non-responsive. The original Bid Documents are modified by the revision as follows: GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 1. Power wash all exterior surfaces of Bldg including concrete walls, cmu walls, doors, overhead coiling doors, window, plaster wall and column surfaces, gates, plaster soffits, exposed down spouts, conduits and exterior light fixtures. Perform work with care not to remove (E) prefinished or painted surfaces or damage (E) sealants. The intent is to remove dust, dirt, bird droppings and other elements that detract from the final completed project appearance Franklin Drive, Pleasanton, California 94588

Specification Security System Commissioning REQUEST FOR INFORMATION RFI # 1 Specification Question: Will EverGuard PVC Roofing System Specification P-MA-N-I-BD be accepted as a product substitution for the specified Single Ply PVC Thermplastic roofing? Answer: No, the district standard roofing system will remain the project roofing system. A change in manufacture will void the existing roof warranties and eliminate a single point of warranty contact for campus roofing issues that is presently in effect. RFI # 2 Specification s I Question: Can Soloman Industrial Colors: Ironoxide product is considered as a substitution for mortar and integral color applications? Answer: This project does not have integral color mortar or concrete applications. RFI # 3 Question: Answer: Sheet A-10.1 Door and Window Schedule Automated Industrial Services: Should Door G be a swing door as indicated on the plan view, or a sliding door? Door G is a Type F-1 door type. The F-1 door type indicates a hinge acting door as indicated under the door elevation. The door is an existing hinged door. The schedule should indicate (E) for the door not (N) as indicated.

6 RFI # 4 Sheet M-2.2 HVAC New Floor Plan Bldg 1400 Question: RoboVent: Can we use another brand of filtration device in weld lab. Currently you have this listed as Lincoln and we can offer Weldvent. Reason: Better construction (metal vs plastic), Better price up front and for filters ongoing, Better warranty (2 years vs 1 year). Answer: After reviewing the welding system by WeldVent model DFMs-1500, the exhaust CFM is equivalent to as specified on drawings. However, due to the lack of information provided, we could not accept the product. Please provide information as specified on specification 01630B to K for final acceptance of product. John Chou H & M Mechanical Group RFI # 5 Sheet A-2.17 Enlarged Floor Plan Finishes Plan Bldg Question: MMM Flooring: The legend indicates use of 12 x 12 Marmoleum field tiles and 12 x 12 Marmoleum border tiles. The drawings do not scale exactly 12 for the border tiles. What is the intent? Answer: The drawings should not be scaled. The intent is to provide a 12 x 12 border of along the perimeter using one color 12 x 12 tiles and different color 12 x 12 for the field tile. Adjustment will need to be made in the field to accommodate new and existing conditions. RFI # 6 Question: Answer: Question: Answer: Sheet M-0.1 Syserco Inc: RFI # 1; Fan Coil Schedule: Note 2 states: Deluxe piping package and 3-way control valve. Who provides the valves? RFI # 1 Engineer s Response: The 3-way control valve comes with the deluxe piping package which is provided by Trane the manufacturer. Syserco Inc: Detail 5: Control Diagram: Diagram shows 2 dampers for OA and RA. Who will provide economizer/return air damper actuators? Will Syserco need to provide an analog output to control the motors? RFI # 2 Engineer s Response: The Economizer damper actuators are provided by Syserco. RFI # 7 Sheet A2.2, A3.1, A10.1, A10.3 Question: On Floor Plan A2.2 there appears 2 windows Type A at the exterior of Covered Welding Room 1416C. According to the window schedule on plan A-10.1, the Type A window (changed in addendum 1 from Type 1) is shown as an alumiumn window with 3 vertical mullions. On exterior elevation plan A3.1, these windows are shown with a singular vertical mullion and have a key note of 1, which indicates new HM window? Please clarify if this is a HM or aluminum window and if it has 1 or 3 vertical mullions.

7 Answer: RFI # 8 Question: Answer: The windows are aluminum windows as indicated on Sheet A-10.1 Window Type 1. Details 19 and 20 on Sheet A-10.2 indicates alumiumn frames. The correct number of mullions is those shown on Window Type 1 on Sheet A Sheet A-5.3 Interior Elevations Bldg 1400 & A-5.5 Interior Elevations Bldg On interior detail 7/A5.3 and 2 & 3/A5.5 a colored cork tackboard is called out. The cork tackboard is not specified? What is the product? The colored cork tackboard indicated shall be Forbo Color Permeated Cork 48 wide with brushed aluminum 1-1/2 frame. Color to be selected from manufacturer standard colors. RFI # 9 Sheet A-2.4 New Equipment Floor Plan Bldg 1400 Question: RoboVent: Room 1416C indicates equipment E-1. By column line 9/J. Is this the same piece of equipment indicated in B Down Draft Table Model PB-55? Answer: Equipment E-1 indicated on Sheet A-2.4 is an (E) down draft table that will be replaced with the (N) Model PB-55. The (E) down draft table will be installed by the district at an alternate location to be determined.
