Must say sorry for lack of articles but there is a lot of technical stuff that needs to be addressed. There is not a Presidents report. On a sweeter note, most of my birds are sold, only a couple of breeding boxes left. All my show cages will be put up for sale after our auction. Thanks to the buyers some got a bargain. Any birds left after the auctions will be sold to the best offer. Whats on????? Club Meeting March, Charlie Chang re- dressing birds for the Nationals. Club Meeting April. Round table discussion on Recessive Varieties. Vale. Condolences go out to our member John Scull and his family with the passing of John s wife Rhonda, after a long illness. 4 South Qld Budgerigar Breeders Association Futures Show & Inter Club Challenge To be held on Sunday 20 th March 2016 at the Strathpine Community Hall Mecklem St Strathpine Great chance to give your birds some experience leading up to the National Zone Selections in June. The 2016 Futures Show will be conducted along the same lines as previous years with the addition this year of an Inter Club Challenge For the Inter Club Challenge birds will be judged to five places with points allocated 5 for 1 st 4 for 2 nd 3 for 3 rd for 4 th & 1 for 5 th There will a perpetual trophy that the winning Club will hold for 12 months ******************************** There will be a pair of birds as a prize for the Novice Exhibitors Novice Exhibitors will be allocated a number in the draw for every bird benched. Exhibitors must bench at least 2 birds to be eligible There will be a cock bird for the Intermediate Exhibitors Intermediate Exhibitors will be allocated a number in the draw for every bird benched Exhibitors must bench at least 2 birds to be eligible ******************************** Raffle The raffle to be drawn at the show will be a magnificent bird supplied by Bob Smith Tickets $1 each ******************************** For any queries contact Bill Sedgwick on or show.secretary@wrbsinc.com

5 South Qld Budgerigar Breeders Association Futures Show Inter Club Challenge Young Birds 2015 Rung (Purple Ring) All Intermediate & Novice Exhibitors from South Queensland Clubs are invited to exhibit their birds in this Show Young Bird Show for Intermediate & Novice Exhibitors To be held on Sunday 20 th March 2016 at the Strathpine Community Hall Mecklem St Strathpine Great chance to give your birds some experience leading up to the National Zone Selections in June. Young birds must be rung with a 2015 Purple closed ring bearing the approved ANBC symbol & bred by the Exhibitor Entries close: Sunday 13th March 8.30pm Contact: Pat Sedgwick or show.secretary@wrbsinc.com or Heather Farren-Price or treasurer@sqbba.com Emergency Mobile phone on show day Pat Sedgwick or Heather Farren-Price No Late Entries Can Be Accepted. Unisex Show hens & cocks all in together like the Nationals Exhibitors are requested to enter Young birds using matrix of 27 Classes Please check your entries as entries cannot be reclassified at staging time. Entry Fee: No entry fee or postage Floor covering millet heads/sprays. ANBC cages only to be benched (must have drinker) Benching commencing at 7.45 am. and final benching at 8.45 am Judging to commence at 9.15am Removal of birds immediately after presentation of trophies (birds to be collected, then when all birds are off the staging & everyone is happy they have their own birds, show manager will announce all can leave). Morning tea will be provided Lunch will be available at a nominal fee. Please note, every care will be taken with exhibits but SQBBA will not be responsible for any losses, deaths or accidents. Show will be conducted in accordance with show rules of SQBBA inc affiliated Clubs A trophy will be awarded in Intermediate & Novice sections for all 27 classes A trophy will awarded for the Best Intermediate & Novice Junior Birds ie Best Intermediate Normal Green, Normal Grey Green, Best Novice Normal Green, Normal Grey Green As an extra encouragement there will be a trophy for the best bird from the following 3 classes Black eye, Clearwing & Recessive Pied in both Intermediate & Novice sections As an encouragement for Novice Exhibitors there will be a draw for a breeding pair of budgerigars sourced from a well-known local breeder. As an incentive for Intermediate Exhibitors there will be a draw for a breeding Cock also from a well-known local breeder. To be eligible to enter the draw an exhibitor must bench at least 2 birds in the show
