1 ADDENDUM NO. 4 November 15, Page 1 PROJECT MANUAL FOR CONSTRUCTION OF HVAC REPLACEMENT FOR NORTH OCONEE HIGH SCHOOL FOR OCONEE COUNTY SCHOOLS WATKINSVILLE, GEORGIA DATED: SEPTEMBER 14, 2018 CUNNINGHAM, FOREHAND, MATTHEWS & MOORE, ARCHITECTS, INC MANCHESTER STREET, N. E. ATLANTA, GEORGIA SHL-D The following items shall take precedence over the plans and specifications (Project Manual) for the above named project and shall become a part of the Contract Documents. Where any items called for in the specifications or indicated on the drawings are supplemented hereby, the original shall remain in effect. Where any original item is amended, voided, or superseded hereby, the provisions of such item not specifically amended voided, or superseded shall remain in effect. The following items shall be incorporated in the Plans and Project Manual A. PROJECT MANUAL: ITEM NO. 1: ADDENDUM NO. 3: ITEM NO. 1: SECTION BDA - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS, SECTION BDI - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: At PRE-BID CONFERENCE:, at "The existing fire alarm system manufacturer is," change from "Simplex" to "Notifier". ITEM NO. 2: SECTION BDA - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS/SECTION BDI - INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS: Per the Bid Advertisement and the Instructions to Bidders, the following General Contractors are approved bidders: A. Grahl Construction Kevin Price Construction McKnight Construction Company ITEM NO. 3: SECTION HVAC: At PART 2 - PRODUCTS: a. Add the following paragraphs: "HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS: A. Heat pump system shall be an air-to-air electric heat pump outdoor unit in combination with a direct expansion fan-coil air handling indoor unit with auxiliary resistance heat. B. The indoor fan-coil unit shall consist of a direct expansion cooling coil, condensate drain pan, direct drive fan, resistance electric heater and filter, all contained in a steel cabinet with baked enamel finish. C. Cooling coil shall be aluminum fins with copper or aluminum tubing. Coil shall be direct expansion type with refrigerant metering device. D. Fan shall be forward curved centrifugal with multi-speed direct drive motor and fan relay. E. Resistance heater shall be an open wire type with built-in contactors and safety limit controls and shall be U.L. labeled for use with the fan-coil unit. F. Filter shall be 1" thick throwaway or permanent washable type. G. The outdoor heat pump unit shall consist of a steel cabinet with baked enamel finish with coil and fan guards, hermetic compressor, propeller type condenser fan with direct drive permanently lubricated motor, and condenser coil. Refrigerant circuit shall contain service valves and filter-drier. Compressors shall be protected by a five year warranty. H. Controls shall include a low pressure switch, crankcase heater, suction line accumulator, pressure relief device. Motor compressor shall have both thermal and current sensitive overloads. Outdoor unit shall have a timer to prevent compressor short cycling and shall prevent restarting for five minutes. An automatic defrost control shall accomplish defrosting if required every 90 minutes for

3 ADDENDUM NO. 4 November 15, Page 3 not more than 10 minutes. I. Where indicated in the schedule, a low ambient solid state fan speed control type head pressure control shall permit compressor operation at outdoor temperatures down to 0 F. J. Heat pump system shall be of the size and capacity indicated on the drawings and as manufactured by Carrier or approved equal by Lennox or Trane. EXHAUST FANS - CEILING MOUNTED: A. Ceiling mounted exhaust fans shall have centrifugal fan, shaded pole fan motor with built-in thermal overload protection, steel cabinet with fiberglass acoustical lining, backdraft damper and ceiling grille. Support fan from building structure using four 1/4" diameter threaded rods. B. Ceiling mounted exhaust fan shall be AMCA rated. C. Provide wall discharge caps, brick vents, sloped roof caps or curb mounted roof caps as indicated on the drawings. D. Ceiling mounted exhaust fan shall be of the size, capacity and arrangement indicated on the drawings and as manufactured by PennBarry or approved equal by Acme, Breidert, Broan, Carnes, Cook, Greenheck, Jenn-Air or Twin City Fans. E. Prefabricated roof curbs as specified herein shall be provided for each roof cap as indicated on the drawings. EXHAUST FAN - INLINE CENTRIFUGAL - DIRECT DRIVE: A. Inline centrifugal exhaust fans shall have zinc coated steel housing with hinged access door and spun aluminum inlet venturi. Fan wheel shall be backward inclined centrifugal wheel made of aluminum. B. Motors shall be direct drive, fractional horsepower with built-in thermal overload protection. Motors shall be cooled by air drawn in from outside the air stream. C. The fan shall be equipped with a backdraft damper, vibration isolation hangers and a built in disconnect switch. D. Provide wall-mounted solid-state speed controllers as scheduled on the drawings. E. Exhaust fans shall be AMCA rated for both air and sound.

Inline exhaust fans shall be of the size, arrangement and capacity indicated on the drawings and as manufactured by PennBarry or approved equal by Acme, Breidert, Carnes, Cook, Greenheck, Jenn-Air or Twin City Fans." b. At 2.4 ENERGY RECOVERY UNITS: 1. Replace paragraph "S." with the following: S. Where scheduled on the drawings the unit shall include an auxiliary natural gas furnace with 4 stages of capacity. Gas furnace shall be factory-mounted and consist of stainless steel heat exchangers with multiple concavities, an induced draft blower and an electronic pressure switch to lockout the gas valve until the combustion chamber is purged and combustion airflow is established. Furnace shall include all necessary safeties and a gas ignition system consisting of an electronic igniter to a pilot system, which will be continuous when the heater is operating, but will shut off the pilot when heating is not required. Unit shall include a single gas connection and have gas supply piping entrances in the unit base for through-the-curb piping and in the outside cabinet wall for across the roof gas piping. Auxiliary heating capacity shall be available for operation to supplement the heat pump or to serve as emergency backup. Heat exchangers shall carry a 15 year non-prorated warranty. 2. Replace sub-paragraph Y. 8. with the following: 8. Where the unit is scheduled on the drawing to provide comfort cooling & heating (Locker Rooms) the unit controls shall function as follows: a. When the temperature of the space is below 72 F the gas heat shall be energized in 4 stages. b. A temperature sensor in the supply air shall limit the supply air temperature to not less than 72 F when in the heating mode." c. At 2.8 SERIES FAN POWERED MIXING BOX UNITS:, replace paragraph "K" with the following: K. Control package shall be a Carrier i-vu or Loytec pressure independent electronic control package providing constant fan operation, VAV cooling, electric heat and 0.5" W.G. pressure transducer. d. Delete section 2.11 PRE-FABRICATED PIPE VAULT ASSEMBLY:.

5 ADDENDUM NO. 4 November 15, Page 5 e. Delete section 2.21 OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE AND EXHAUST HOODS:. ITEM NO. 4: SECTION ATC & EMS: At PART 4 - SEQUENCES, at "B.," change to "B. Temperature controls for Roof- Top Units (with VVT) shall be as follows:." B. DRAWINGS: ITEM NO. 1: DRAWING A1.1: At "GENERAL NOTES" add the following: "24. G.C. SHALL PATCH ROOFING AT NEW PIPE CURBS. SEE MECHANICAL DRAWINGS. 25. G.C. SHALL PATCH ROOF AT ALL DEMO'D ELECTRICAL AND GAS PIPING PENETRATIONS TWO (2) PENETRATIONS PER EXISTING ROOF TOP UNIT. SEE MECHANICAL DEMOLITION DRAWINGS. ITEM NO. 2: DRAWING A2.8: Add sketch SK-A2.8-1, dated 11/15/18 and attached herein. ITEM NO. 3: DRAWING M1.8: Replace Drawing M1.8 with revised drawing. ITEM NO. 4: DRAWING M3.1: Replace Drawing M3.1 with revised drawing. ITEM NO. 5: DRAWING M3.2: Replace Drawing M3.2 with revised drawing.
