The engine and generator shall be directly connected, shall be free from injurious torsional or other vibration that results in static deflections in excess of 6-mils. Fuel blending shall be controlled by the engine control system. The proportion of the gases shall be programmed into the engine control system. A gas analyzer shall be provided to monitor the mixed gas methane content and provide this information to the engine controller. A single gas analyzer may service two or more engine generator sets. 2. Each engine fuel system shall be capable of maintaining continuous safe engine operation while adapting to fluctuations in methane (CH4) content due to digester generated gas. 3. Each engine fuel system shall include its own methane sensing device that shall be capable of measure methane percentage by volume between the range of 40%-100% at a minimum. 4. Each engine controller shall be configured to monitor real time CH4 status. Reading status shall trigger on configurable onboard alarms of each engine and drive automatic operation controls if selected. CH4 readings shall be configurable to be output to plant DCS monitoring system. 5. Dual Gas Operation (natural gas blending) a. The system shall blend two gasses: type A (digester gas) and type B (natural Page 8 of 11
9 gas). The CH4 compensation device shall provide a signal to the controller denoting the methane content of the mixed gases. The controller shall adjust the engine settings to accommodate starting and operation on the blended fuel based on the methane content information provided by the CH4 sensor. 6. Make and Model a.
