1 TAKE HOME BAZ WITH BARRY DU BOIS LINDELL AND LAINE Newlyweds Lindell & Laine have just come to the end of their honeymoon period and realised their house is in serious need of some work. Baz meets them in Bunnings where they're looking over some new kitchen handles, with no idea how to attach them. Luckily for them, he's on the shelf and looking for someone to take him home. With the help of Dylan, they show these lovebirds how to replace their old kitchen handles, install a doggy door and completely makeover their backyard with a DIY decking system. It's the biggest Take Home job ever attempted, so the pressure is on Laine to make the backyard (and Baz) look good.

2 JOB 1: KITCHEN CABINET HANDLES Changing the handles on your kitchen cabinets is a quick and easy way to update and polish your kitchen. For a job that has instant impact, you ll be surprised how quickly you can do it yourself with Baz s tips. BEFORE AFTER What you ll need: handles for drawers/cabinets including screws, bolt cutters, tea towel and a screwdriver Step 1: Remove the existing handle and screws that attached it to the drawer. Step 2: Look at the screw that came with the handles. They will have indentations on them that allow the screw to be cut down to size to fit any drawer or cabinet. Step 3: Put the screw through the drawer and count the indentations to ensure you leave enough thread to attach the new handles securely. Step 4: Using bolt cutters, cut the screw at the indentation you ve nominated to fit your drawer or cabinet. Place a tea towel on top to make sure the screw doesn t fly away. Step 5: Once your screw is cut to size, thread it back through the hole and start to screw into both sides of the handles. Once the thread is started on both screws, tighten them off securely using a screwdriver.

BEFORE AFTER What you ll need: door of your choice, doggy door frame and flap with bolts provided, tape measure, drill, jigsaw, pencil and Allen key.

4 JOB 2: DOGGY DOOR The third member of Lindell and Laine s family is their cute pooch, Dale. But if he s going to settle into their new home, he ll need some easy access in and out. Dylan has all the tips needed to give man s best friend his very own thoroughfare. BEFORE AFTER What you ll need: door of your choice, doggy door frame and flap with bolts provided, tape measure, drill, jigsaw, pencil and Allen key. Step 1: Start by measuring your dog s height and then add 50mm to mark out the top of the doggy door. Step 2: Once your initial height is marked, use one half of the frame to draw a template sketch of the hole on your door. Step 3: Drill into each corner of your marked doorframe so you can get the jigsaw in. Remember to always hold your drill upright and square to the surface you are drilling. Step 4: Insert the jigsaw blade into one of the corner holes. Always stand upright over the jigsaw so you can see the line you re following. To ensure your safety, keep your other hand well clear of the direction you re cutting. Step 5: Place the frame in situ on either side of the door. Mark out the spots where you will drill into the door again to enable the bolts provided to pass through into the other side of the door. Step 6: Tighten the bolts to secure the doggy doorframe using an Allen key to finish the job.

JOB 3: BACK YARD DECKING This might just be the biggest ever job someone has taken Barry home from Bunnings to do! But Baz never backs down from a challenge.

BEFORE AFTER What you ll need: Modular decking system, which includes timber for base frame and feet, drill, screws, spirit level and hammer.

6 JOB 3: BACK YARD DECKING This might just be the biggest ever job someone has taken Barry home from Bunnings to do! But Baz never backs down from a challenge. With Laine s help and a brand new modular decking system from Good Times Decking, Baz is confident they can finish off this job in a day. And so can you! BEFORE AFTER What you ll need: Modular decking system, which includes timber for base frame and feet, drill, screws, spirit level and hammer. Step 1: Begin by laying out all of your timber frames and screwing them together as pictured. It s very important that the cross member of the frame and the end piece are flush together at the top of the frame. Step 2: Once the frames are assembled, you can add the feet from the decking system. The frames come with pre-drilled holes so all you have to do is hammer the feet in. Step 3: Once hammered in, ensure each frame section is level and all frames are level together. Step 4: Now the pre-drilled decking goes down. Drop each piece into position on the frame and screw down every second board with a drill. Be sure to screw in at either end of the board. Step 5: Repeat the process across all the level frames to finish the job.
