5 MB4120 CBN GRADE FOR SINTERED ALLOY AND CAST IRON A newly developed binder and high CBN content give the MB4120 grade long tool life and provides a very stable cutting edge. These properties enable the cutting edge to be made with or without a honed edge. The sharp edge type allows sintered alloy components to be machined almost completely without burrs. Additionally, the chemical stability of the CBN grade prevents built-up edge. 6 MT9000/MP9000 ISO TURNING INSERTS FOR DIFFICULT-TO-CUT MATERIALS The new ISO turning insert series MP9000 / MT9000 has been developed for difficult-to-cut materials. The 9000 series is divided into 2 types - coated (MP) and uncoated (MT). All grades are available in different geometries. Thanks to the latest technologies, the coated grades (MP) gain from improved fracture and wear resistance, whilst the uncoated grades (MT) with polished, sharp cutting edges avoid built up edge and ensure long tool life when machining titanium alloys. 8 APX 3000 A GENERATION OF HIGH PERFORMANCE CUTTERS LONG EDGE EXPANSION The APX series is a range of high performance cutters that are effective across various 3D machining operations, including excellent ramping capabilities. The range has been extended by the inclusion of the long edge type. Due to the APX s special geometry, the heat generated during cutting has been reduced. The inserts produce a chip shape suitable for efficient disposal that also reduces clogging. The cutter bodies are designed with through coolant holes to further improve cooling and chip disposal. By using a larger amount of backing metal behind the insert, rigidity has also been increased. Resistance to corrosion and abrasion of the cutter body is guaranteed by using a superior highly heat resistant alloy and a special surface treatment. 10 VQT5MVRB CORNER RADIUS END MILL FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY MACHINING OF TITANIUM ALLOYS The new corner radius end mill VQT5MVRB is designed for high efficiency machining of titanium alloys. The combination of the 5 flutes and the centre through coolant hole enables efficient rough cutting and makes chip discharge smoother. Optimisation of the flute geometry also improves chip evacuation and makes it ideal for deep slot machining.
