1 AWESOME WORKSHOPS FOR CREATIVE KIDS
2 AWESOME WORKSHOPS FOR CREATIVE KIDS Inkling Art Space is a magical studio in Fremantle s historic West End. Our studio is nestled behind Paper Bird Children s Books - where we are surrounded by sunshine, art, science and inspiring books. We run incursions, excursions and workshops throughout the year with a focus on building art skills and critical thinking. OUR APPROACH We have a commitment to providing authentic arts experiences for children, and adults, and strive to build skills in a supportive, caring environment. EVERYONE IS AN ARTIST We run workshops and classes that inspire you to discover something new for yourself. Whether you are a new artist, or a pro, we aim to provide a safe, inspiring space for your art making and learning. EVERYBODY IS WELCOME All ages and abilities are welcome in the Inkling Studio. We believe that diversity feeds creativity - just let us know if you re bringing a carer or an interpreter so we can be prepared. GOOD TOOLS MAKE GREAT ART Have you ever tried to colour-in with a cheap pencil? The colour is pale, the marks are dull and it turns making art into hard work. At Inkling we believe in using the best materials we can afford pencils and paints that make bold marks and spark your imagination, crisp paper that works with you rather than tearing and crumpling. We work with the tools and techniques that we use ourselves in our own arts practice. All of our materials are good quality, responsive and inspiring. OUR TEAM The Inkling Team has a wide range of arts specialties and skills. We are all friendly, amazing artists who bring our enthusiasm, experience (and sometimes live snakes!) to every class. WE CAN T WAIT TO MAKING SOMETHING AMAZING WITH YOU SOON. PHONE admin@inklingarts.com.au WEB
3 ORIGAMI PUBLISHING STORY MAKERS LETS MAKE A MINI-LIBRARY FOR YOUR CLASSROOM We begin by brainstorming and doing crazy warm-up sketches. Then we will write and illustrate our own stories in little books. Our illustrations will be inspired by amazing collage artists such as Eric Carle, Patricia Mullins and Pete Cromer. - graphite, markers, collage materials - drawing, origami, collage, writing ONCE UPON A TIME We believe every child is filled with wonderful stories. These workshops are designed to help bring them out. In these sessions we explore developing characters, settings and amazing action. Every child will have story success and produce lively illustrations. Two Art Specialists will help the whole class create a crazy story, then guide your students through introductory drawing exercises. We will then break into small groups to write and illustrate our own books. MATCHBOX MINIATURES HOW MANY STORIES CAN YOU FIT IN YOUR POCKET? We begin by brainstorming crazy ideas together and doing some quick warm-up sketches. Then we will make enough teeny tiny books to fill a matchbox. Will you make joke books, scientific books, fantasy books, scary books or mysterious books? - graphite, pen, marker - drawing, writing BOOK IN A DAY ILLUSTRATE AND PUBLISH A WHOLE BOOK IN JUST ONE DAY! We will begin by doing some warm-up sketches. Then we will work together as a class to create a fantastic story. Next, we will break into pairs to brainstorm ideas for our illustrations. Once we have our very best ideas we will create the final artwork. By the end of the day you will have your very own class picture book. - graphite, collage - drawing, writing, collage ALL DAY WORKSHOP INCURSION FEE - $900 EXCURSION FEE - $750

Two Art Specialists will introduce the topic, then guide your students through drawing exercises. We will then break into groups to explore drawing, sculpting, painting and other art techniques. 5 HUMAN DRAWING MACHINE DRAWING MACHINE EXPLORE DRAWING WITHOUT FEAR Make beautiful abstract pieces by drawing with your friends, with your toes, your hands behind your back and even upside down! Once we have loosened up our drawing muscles we will construct machines to capture marks made by the motion of our bodies. - charcoal, pastels, markers, paint, ink - drawing, construction, movement DRAWING IS A FUNDAMENTAL SKILL But so often we hear the phrase I can t draw! These workshops strive to overcome the fear of making mistakes and dispel the notion of a perfect drawing. In these workshops we combine joyful movement, construction and building techniques and extraordinary art making. Two Art Specialists will guide your students through introductory drawing exercises. Then we will build machines using string, cardboard and all sorts of recycled materials. Through these machines we will create surprising and energetic artworks. PLANT DRAWING MACHINE DO PLANTS AND TREES MAKE ART? YES! Make beautiful abstract drawings by using flowers, leaves and sticks to make stunning lines and marks on paper. Delight in the drawings that trees can make using markers and ink.
