15 Sentinel Asia The Sentinel Asia initiative, started operation in 2006, is collaboration between space agencies and disaster management agencies, applying remote sensing and Web-GIS technologies to support disaster management. NARLabs joined in 2010 as a DPN (Data Provider Node) & DAN (Data Analysis Node). Then invited NCU-CSRSR to join as a DAN. Note: 83 organization in 25 different countries/regions, & 13 int l organizations, incl. 19 Data Transmission to Regional Server Data sharing on Web-GIS and data dissemination to regional servers by internet and WINDS satellite communications. Larger volumes of satellite image can be distributed using WINDS in times of disasters Centralized data management at JAXA Secure access control function to limit users according to the data policy 19

36 Summary FORMOSAT-2 has been making major contributions to the Sentinel Asia collaboration and others. NSPO shares imagery, exchange experiences, and conduct joint projects under this cooperation framework. Follow-on FORMOSAT-5 is targeted to launch in NSPO is committed to continuous support to the global community in disaster risk reduction to bring societal benefits.
