From this experience and an innate mechanical aptitude, he has developed unique insights regarding the successful support and stabilization required with longer focal length lenses - especially as they apply to sports and wildlife. Selection and use of Tripods, gimbals, monopods, bodypods, and carpods as well as aids to improving handheld techniques will be presented along with sample images of the equipment used. 2 Monthly Meeting Gear Swap Photographers are always looking for the latest and greatest gear and equipment. We spend a lot of money looking for that perfect piece of equipment that is going to take our photography to the next level. And, so, over the years we all end up collecting things that we no longer want or use, i.e. camera bodies, lenses, camera bags, filters, tripods, etc., etc. We will have space/tables available for you to display your photographic related items you wish to sell, trade or give away. Your items should be marked with the usual info, i.e. name, price and any spec sheet data, etc. Also, any publications you wish to sell or share bring them. Displaying your items during the social hour will get the most exposure. The Treasure Coast Photography Center, Inc. will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any displayed items. Each member is totally responsible for their own stuff. All equipment/materials must be removed from the building by the end of the meeting. Any items not claimed by the end of the meeting will be disposed of. Okay, now, everybody dig through your closets and old camera bags and see what you ve got. 3 Amphibian Adventures Night Hike July 3 August 7 September 4 7:00pm Enjoy an evening in the Savannas Preserve State Park learning about Florida frogs and toads as well as other nocturnal creatures. Participants will learn how to identify local species by ear, then assist with FrogWatch data collection while strolling through the park by starlight. Programs are free with paid park admission. Nature photos and special interest photos, etc. Sign up for specific events as a leader or helper. TCPC photographer badges on lanyards. Preparatory Workshop for group shots and portraits. Indoor photography with available light and/or photographic lighting. Outdoor photography with available light and/or photographic lighting. If demand is strong, also a post-processing portrait retouch workshop. Finish these prep workshops by mid- November. Promote our calendar of workshops and events on website, newspaper, radio, and newsletters. Each workshop / event has a complete description including the scope and objectives, student requirements, date and timing, size limits. Where practical workshops would have links to preparatory material for video instruction and PDF download. Collect and publish feedback and post photos online. 13 TCPC General Meeting June 3rd 2015 President Mike opened the meeting at 6:31 pm. Mike asked if we had any visitors and welcomed them. Rob read the minutes of the May 6, 2015 meeting. Ginger read the treasury report. As of May 31, 2015 we had $ Robbie asked Ginger how much money was collected for the Jeff Linn sponsorship fund for the From the Heart Photography Show ($ ). He then explained the FTH show to the new members and guests, and reminded us that we can submit photos on line from August 1 to October 13 and drop off accepted pictures on November Ginger went over the June 13 field trip to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge: Meet at Ft. Pierce Home Depot at 10:00am and have lunch at Dixie Crossroads restaurant at 11:30am before heading to the refuge to take pictures. Steve announced the winners for the monthly photo contest and showed the slides of the winners and other entrants. Reminded members to submit to contest@tcpcinc.org. Winners were: 1st Place: Lisa Ludlum, 2nd Place, Chet Smith, 3rd Place, Anjula Smith. Guest George McDaniel of the Jazz and Blues Society introduced himself and let us know about his club and gave their info@jazzsociety.org. Arlene commended the Jazz and Blues Society for their scholarships to local students. Arlene then introduced guest speaker Ron R. Bielefeld, biologist and wildlife photographer (Whistling Wings Photography), to speak on photographing birds in flight. We then took a 15 minute break. We viewed monthly theme photographs of Urban Decay. Next month s theme will be Street Photography. Bob did the 50/50 drawing. Raised $100. Winner was Bruce Olson.
