Dick specialized in Family Groups on Location, Executive Portraiture, Children and Exquisite Black and White Pre-Bridals. Dick earned the Master and Craftsmen Degree from the Professional Photographers of America, (PPA). From the CT Photographers, he received the National Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to photography andservice to others. Dick and Marcia gave programs and judged around the country and at the National PPA Convention. Dick is most proud to have been a judge at the Fellowship of the PPA, the highest award for a body of work. After 42 years In business, he retired to South Florida, and then moved to Vero Beach in He has continued his teaching and judging for the Amateur and Professional Groups around Florida. He has been a photographer using sheet film and the darkroom, and has now converted to all digital, doing High Dynamic Range (HDR), landscapes and fine art photography. He is now experimenting with Carbon Tissue Transfers, a process brought over from England in the 1860 s. He processes his prints in the kitchen, using Knox Gelatin, Sugar, India Ink, and Alcohol, hot and cold water. He is exhibiting 60 years of development as a photographer, from Black and White silver prints, to color, and now to digital inkjet, and Carbon prints; experimenting with what you can do with the Carbon Transfers. Dick loves helping photographers that have his passion and believes that Giving Back is keeping him Going.

2 photos by Bob Davis What a nice evening, March 29, at the Savannas Preserve State Park Awards Ceremony. About ten of our TCPC members were in attendance to see Kay Kent not only take a First in the Birds category, but also BEST OF SHOW, with her photo of a wild and banded Scrub Jay. Sandy Aponte won 2nd place in Flora and Fauna. Our long time member, Kris Haggblom took several awards, as well in the Birds and the Flora and Fauna categories. Winning four awards, 1st and 3rd in Flora and Fauna, 2nd in Birds, and 3rd in Landscape was one of our newer members, John Furlong. Nice, too, to visit with our February speaker, Ranger Paul Millette. And thanks, Bob, for taking such good photos of our member winners. Arlene Brooks

3 Monthly Meeting Gear Swap Photographers are always looking for the latest and greatest gear and equipment. We spend a lot of money looking for that perfect piece of equipment that is going to take our photography to the next level. And, so, over the years we all end up collecting things that we no longer want or use, i.e. camera bodies, lenses, camera bags, filters, tripods, etc., etc. We will have space/tables available for you to display your photographic related items you wish to sell, trade or give away. Your items should be marked with the usual info, i.e. name, price and any spec sheet data, etc. Also, any publications you wish to sell or share bring them. Displaying your items during the social hour will get the most exposure. The Treasure Coast Photography Center, Inc. will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any displayed items. Each member is totally responsible for their own stuff. All equipment/ materials must be removed from the building by the end of the meeting. Any items not claimed by the end of the meeting will be disposed of. Okay, now, everybody dig through your closets and old camera bags and see what you ve got. 4 Mike opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. Rob read the minutes of the Feb. 4 meeting. TCPC General Meeting March 4, 2015 Ginger read treasury report. $ as of March 4, Ginger is planning a field trip to Wakoodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach on Saturday March 14. Also a trip Satuday April 11 to Gatorland in Kissimmee. Monthly contest winners for March: 1st Place Jeff Linn, 2nd Place Jerry Swain, 3rd Place tie Nancy Bredemeyer and Jeff Kraengel. Mike-election committee (Ginger): Slate of officers will remain the same President-Mike Przekop, Vice President-Robbie Sheets, Secretary-Rob Schneider, Treasurer-Ginger Shoun. Robbie talked about the 2015 From the Heart photo show. He announced the need for sponsors and asked members to help find them. Deadline for getting sponsors is May 31. He said the FTH committee chose Family Meals, Inc. to be our charitable organization recipient. Robbie asked members to sign a get well card for Jeff Linn, who just had an operation. Arlene introduced our guest speakers TCPC members Jeff and Connie Kraengel, speaking on travel photography. Took 15 minute break. Peter Schmidt went over website and explained how members could register. Steve went over Old Florida theme photos. Next month s theme is special effects. Members submit one photo for critiquing. Bob Davis was out sick, so member Joe Regan did the 50/50 drawing. Collected $104. Steve Jones won $57. Mike adjourned the meeting at 8:15pm.

Special Effects Photography can be as simple as HDR, or soft focus. The rules for Special Effects Photography: There is absolutely no such thing as the special effects rule. Your imagination is your only limits. Photoshop is the least important part of special effects photography. Like your camera, it s a tool. No more, no less. What s 10x more important is your visual imagination and creativity: What you want to describe. What emotions you want to evoke. What artistic dimensions and subjects you want to explore, and how deep you want to go to bring out the true essence of photographic excellence. Some simple special effect Ideas: Is double or multiple exposure. Zooming during exposure. Taking long exposure pictures and experiment with getting light trails. Remember bring one Special Effects Photography image to the next meeting. You can bring them on any type of info@tcpcinc.org, the day before the meeting. I repeat, your images the day before, not the day of the meeting, so we will be able to view and discuss images from everyone.
