5 Steve Simon s Presentation Steve Simon is a Canadian award-winning documentary/street photographer, lecturer, workshop leader and author of five critically acclaimed photography books including The Passionate Photographer, which was chosen as one of Amazon s Top Ten Art and Photography Books. I was able to listen to Steve s presentation a while ago and it was quite impressive. Visit his website thepassionatephotographer.com for tips, tutorials, portfolios and workshops. 6 Photo Field Trip Chihuly at NY Botanical Garden For the first time in more than 10 years, the artwork of world-famous sculptor Dale Chihuly will be showcased in a major exhibition at the NY Botanical Garden. The brilliant, multicolored glass sculptures set in the garden landscape and buildings will offer us amazing photo opportunities. A photo field trip to the NY Botanical Garden to photograph the Chihuly Exhibition is scheduled for Friday June 9, Members, spouses/friends have signed up for this trip.
7 Chihuly at NY Botanical Garden As always, we plan to car pool to the NY Botanical Garden leaving the parking lot at Graydon Pool at 8:30am. We will meet at 10:00am in the Parking Lot on the Conservatory Gate (2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx, NY). The photo shoot of the Chihuly exhibition will begin as soon as we will arrive and it will continue until lunch time at around 12:30pm. Lunch will be at the Pine Tree Cafe (on your own). A possible after lunch photo shoot will be decided by each member. My cell phone number is Chihuly at NY Botanical Garden
8 May Photo Opportunities May Photo Opportunities A couple of events are scheduled over the next couple of weeks and both of them will offer great photo opportunities: The Iris peak blooms at Presby Memorial Iris Garden in Montclair in the last week of this month. The 42nd Motorama Car Show in North Haledon on Sunday May 28, No official Photo Field Trips will be scheduled for these events but I really encourage you to take the opportunity to see them if you are looking to somewhat different photo opportunities.
