2 RELEASE DATES: Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 10:00 am 4:00 pm Monday, September 10, 2018 from 8:30 am 7:00 pm CASH PREMIUMS: will be available on Park St. west of the main gate Monday - Saturday, September 3 8, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. After September 11, 2018 awards will be given out only during regular office hours and may be picked up at the E.I.S.F. Main Office. Premiums not claimed by September 28, 2018 will be considered a donation and will revert back to the Fair s general fund. The fair will not be responsible for articles left after 7:00 p.m. on Monday September 10, There will be a Storage Fee on ALL photographs left after the 3rd week of September. The charge will be $20 per week. SPECIAL DEPARTMENT RULES: (For judging purposes) NO PRINTS IN ANY DIVISION MAY BE SIGNED OR HAVE A LOGO ON THEM. A. Professional Photographs must be 16 x20 or 16 x24, framed in a 16 x20 or 16 x24 frame (no wider than 3 ½ ) WITH NO MATTING and must have picture wire attached, ready for hanging. Nailed-in corrugated metal strip are not permitted. Special mountings may be entered by permission only. All entries that are not mounted correctly (amateur) or ready to be hung (professional) may be refused. B. All Amateur Prints must be 8 x10 or 8 x12 and Advanced Amateur 11 x14 or 11 x16 photographs must be MOUNTED AND/OR MATTED, with strips of velcro (hook, also known as rough, side) on 2 sides of mounting or matting. (Mounting is a hard backing behind print, Matting is when a print is looking through an opening from behind a matte board.) The Mount or Matte may only be one print size larger than the print entered. (Example: 8 x10 print in or on an 11 x14 matte or mount.) C. Poster board is not an acceptable mount. D. NO FRAMES WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE AMATEUR OR ADVANCED AMATEUR DIVISIONS. E. Odd shaped mounts in amateur prints are discouraged. F. Amateur and Advanced Amateur may enter in Series classes. 5 x7 may be used. All pictures must be in condition suitable for exhibition. G. Work must be original and cannot be entered more than one year. All slides must have been originally photographed on slide film (No slide duplicates of prints will be accepted.) H. The combining or subdividing of classes will vary depending on the number or merit of entries in any given year, at the discretion of the official. 2 P age
3 I. Pictures entered in the wrong class will be disqualified or changed to another class by the Superintendent. J. Awards will be made according to the merits of the entry. If no competition exists or if an entry is not worthy of 1st premium, the judge may disqualify or award 2nd, 3rd or 4th premiums at his or her discretion. Only one of each placing in any one class will be awarded unless otherwise specified. Where no competition exists but the judge deems the entry worthy of a blue ribbon, a ribbon will be awarded and entry will be entered for Special Prizes. NO premium will be paid if no competition exists. TO ENTER: A. The name and address of the photographer should be on the upper left hand corner of the back of all prints and on the bottom of the FRONT of all slides. B. The superintendent reserve the right to not display any picture that does not conform to regulations, is deemed to be objectionable, or which is not of high standards for family viewing. C. For this exhibit, a professional is one who earns any part of his income from taking pictures or has had professional training or experience or has considered himself a professional for any period of time. The Advanced Amateur is one who has had advanced training or prolonged experience in photography. A person may enter only one of the three divisions, amateur, advanced amateur or professional, or disqualification may result. D. Pictures will be judged in competition with each other within their own divisions and classes. AWARDS CEREMONY AND SOCIAL Social will be Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Awards Ceremony will be at 8:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Each Exhibitor may bring one guest to the awards ceremony. 3 P age
4 SUPERINTENDENTS CHALLENGE The subject for the Superintendents Challenge this year is HORSE. This can be a pretty broad subject, so get creative and use your imagination. Subject can be photographed in color or black & white. Good Luck! Micha Wixom, Superintendent Class #1 ENTRY FEE $50 PREMIUM: WINNER TAKES ALL!!!!! SUBJECT: HORSE (must be appropriate for family viewing) Exhibitors may enter only one print. Subject can be photographed in color or black & white. Print size must be 16 x20 or 16 x24 mounted on a hard backing such as matte board or foam core with two strips of Velcro (must be the hook, also known as the rough side) on the back on either side or on top and bottom. NO FRAMES PLEASE! If the specifications for the subject are not followed the print may be disqualified. Premiums paid out will differ from year to year depending on how many entries we have in this Class. 4 P age

Poster board is not an acceptable mount. Grouping and judging will be decided by officials.
